Another short video, 2 minutes this time.

Every one of the soldiers in the fancy uniforms and all
the bandsmen are real soldiers and they take their turn
when, there is fighting to be done, they were in Iraq &
Afghanistan, plus many other hot spots, only the horses
don't go to battle today.

I wonder if they give the horses earplugs

...and just look at the crowds!! It's wonderful that we still have all this. I get choked up when I see it all, and hear the National Anthem. I remember the coronation and the special commemorative frock I wore, with matching socks!

I am certain it will be televised here in Canada so I will be setting the DVR so I don't miss it. Everyone loves a parade and this is going to be one of the best.

The Guards Division wear a black bearskin when in full parade dress, which are provided to the British Army by a Canadian First Nation under contract. The First Nation provides about 100 bearskins per year, which are made into the traditional head gear by a British hat maker. Each bearskin cap costs about 650 UK pounds to produce. They weigh about a kilo each and are about 18 inches in height. Officers bearskins are from the Canadian Brown bear, which has a fuller smoother fur, which is then died black. The average Guards bearskin lasts for more than 50 years, if properly cared for. The Canadian Forces have 4 units that also wear bearskins in full dress uniform. The Royal 22nd Regiment, The Royal Regiment of Canada, the Ceremonial Guard, and the Canadian Grenadier Guards. JimB.

long before my time, but I've seen it often on TV... however it's always in B&W you would have seen it all in glorious colour...
