Hello,

I found this forum and decided to check it out for a while. Looking forward to seeing a lot of interesting stuff, stories and opinions.

I'm not from Germany, but I spent over 4 years over there in the USAF, and married a German girl....over 51 years ago. I totally enjoyed my time in Europe.

I am, sort of. My mom is from Leipzig, and all our relatives on her side live in Germany. I was born there (Wiesbaden) and lived there from ages 0-2, and in Ramstein from 6-9... my dad was in the USAF. My mom left Leipzig when she was 18, on a visa to visit my Tante in Wiesbaden. She didn't return until I was 9, when we went to visit my Oma. The Red Cross stayed at the border during our visit to make sure they could get my sister and me back in case my mom was arrested.

I have not been to Germany since childhood.

Hello Angelica, welcome. I'm not from Germany but i spend a lot of time trying to teach English to my German harmonica.

I am a new member, born near Berlin in 1925. My mother was a well known classical pianist and my father was an engineer who made Electrolux-like vacuums.
We left Germany in September 1933 on the HAPAG MS SAN FRANCISCO, arriving in Long Beach, CA in May 1934, and have lived in Los Angeles ever since.
Hoffnung, von Ihnen zu hören.
