The exploding pagers were made by a company in Budapest Hungary, under license from a company in Taiwan called Gold Appolo. This was confirmed by the head of the company in Taiwan. The pager is the AR 924 model, sold under the brand name of Gold Appolo in the middle east. The Hungarian company is listed as BAC Consulting KFT, with a address in a residential part of the city of Budapest. BAC has had a licensing agreement with Gold Appolo for the past 3 years.

Additional information. The Gold Appolo company in Taiwan has stated that about 40,000 of the BAC AR 924 pagers were sold in the middle east between January and August of this year. JIMB.
