I need advice on places to shop for nice but not expensive clothes for older women. I’ve googled every title I can think of…no luck. Any help will be greatly appreciate!

What about standard, established Department Stores? 10 years ago I found appropriate dresses for my son's wedding by sticking to the tried & true. I bought online and decided at home. Found a local dressmaker to help me lift up decorated hem--I'm short. Shorter now than I was 10 years ago, but that's a different story.

Welcome to the forum @Retiredforgood

If you are in the UK, have a look at John Lewis online. They have all sorts of brands and styles for different age groups. (y)

Hi and Welcome, Retiredforgood!!

I'm glad that you decided to give us a try... so sorry that I'm not going to be able to help much.
And being an old man that doesn't have enough fashion sense to dress a monkey for an organ-grinder,
you're better off without my advice...
Good luck anyway!!

The guys in my band used to laugh at me because I would buy my clothes at thrift stores. But I've bought a ton of perfectly good clothes for next to nothing. I can't even guess how many times I've bought brand new jeans with the price tags still on them for a fraction of the original price.

And every thrift store I have ever been in has a ton of women's clothes and there are always ladies going through them. I've seen ladies with 30 or 40 dresses and at less than $1 each the maximum price would be $40 or less. (Plus, no cut for the Tax Man...)
