There are "winter hardy " types that can survive in the southern parts of eastern Canada., My Wife was born in The Bahamas, where hibiscus grow wild. We have 3 types in our back yard, here in Toronto that flower year after year. JimB.

Mine pretty much refuse to flower. They were big plants that someone placed where there is too much shade. I have cut them back radically to see if that helps. So far I just have leaves. They have no concept that their lives are at stake…
