High School Basket Ball Team Obliterating Opponents. One game 161-2

A high school basket ball team in California is dominating opponents with a capital D and has been accused of piling on, running up the score and/or unsportmanlike conduct. Defeated one team 161-2

Besides the piling on or loosing good or bad for you issues am I the only one smelling stink on poop here. I keep on thinking about the little league world series and the teams using/sneeking in 18 year olds.

That was a little excessive. The girls on the losing team were crushed and broken.
We were winning with a score of about 55 to 0. Our coach said the next player that scores, I will have him running laps for a week.
Pro football is not like a bunch of kids trying to master a sport, you can crush another team but not demoralize them.
I'm against playing any kind of sport that lets both sides win. I'll take up basket weaving instead of sports.

One must ask:

Is the other team and/or coach cheating?

Are the other teams and/or coaches that bad?

What is the difference. Something a miss here.

I keep hearing you should learn how to lose-I agree. BUT you also learn when to throw in the towel so to speak. I'm questioning the losing coaches as much as anyone else because sometimes you have to cut your losses and run. Once scores are that lopsided no one is going to learn anything. I disappointed in the losing coaches for not conceding and ask to turn it into an exhibition or something. Learning to cut your losses & run is just as important to learn how to lose. Live to fight another day so to speak. Macarthur could've stuck it out in the Philippines and either decimate his own forces or be taken prisoner himself. The Allies could've fought at Dunkirk instead of working on a evacuation. They have bankruptcy laws for a reason. At a certain point lets face it you are done.

You have to wonder how these teams were in the same league. Running up the score is despicable in any situation other than the pros...

Maybe Obama can have the teams share the points. Take points away from the better team and give them to the team that can't hit a basket. That way all games would end in a tie. Wouldn't that make the world a better place?

Something is not right here. They need to investigate both programs. Some high schools hire outside coaches and others use current staff/teachers which means someone might of wanted some extra pay and resume time on the losing team especially.
