Highest Speed Limit Where You Live

What is the highest speed limit in your state, province or country?

In British Columbia it’s 120 kph or 75 mph on the Coquihalla. That’s a high mountain highway.

Edit: Feel free to add the fastest that you’ve driven on that road.

65mph is the top speed on the interstate.

In the city 30-35 is more common but people abuse the speed limit and our local law enforcement seems reluctant to enforce any driving or vehicle related ordinances unless people are involved in an accident.

For some reason it’s believed that handing out tickets creates a disproportionate hardship on the poor.

That seems like a ‘woke’ philosophy, everything in life is a disproportionate hardship on the poor. 🤷‍♀️

IMO if we don’t intend to enforce the laws evenly and fairly we should eliminate them.

Rural Interstates/Freeways: Up to 80 mph on specified segments; generally 75 mph elsewhere in rural areas.
Urban Interstates/Freeways: Typically 65 mph.
Other Rural Highways: Up to 70 mph.
Residential Areas: Typically 25-30 mph.
School Zones: Typically 15-25 mph when children are present.

Don't travel I-93 often but when we do typically to stay with trafic flow is around 100mph.

Other than that some cross streets in town around 55mph. I-215 & I-15 70mph.

Interstate maximum speed in my state is 70 MPH.

State highways are as high as 65 MPH but my area is 55 MPH.

Last year I finally got picked up for doing 70 MPH, but the trooper let me go. “I can’t drive 55”, so I now set the cruise control at 59 because the Hoops patrol the state highways heavily in my county🫣🫣

Freeways generally max out at 65 mph in Los Angeles County, though a few stretches in outlying areas are posted at 70. Plenty of drivers go 10 mph or more over the speed limit during low traffic times.

The following are all in Kilometers
30 in residential areas, recently dropped from 40
40 on some side streets that are commercial and residential
50/60 on most main arteries
80 on most rural two lane county roads
100 to 110 on the highways

in kansas certain rural highways it's 70. the rest of the highways it's 75. i think that's way too fast. and people here are always doing 80 or more. i haven't driven in 2 yrs and i don't miss it.

2004 ZX-10R; often referred to as "The Widowmaker" lol. What a bike!!

Cool bike. Funny story, back in 1982 I bought a new Honda CM400. It had a defective sand casting block, so, the dealer gave me a loaner bike while they replaced the defective engine.
A 1977 KZ1000 Kawasaki. That was the fastest bike I had ever ridden. Took it over the century mark many times, but, never could clear my watery eye's to see exactly how fast it would run. (no helmet back then). Sounds a bit tame in this day of sport bikes with their swoopy, areodynamic plastic, but remember, this basically stock, high sitting, banana seated monster had you sitting bolt upright and trusting the puny brake system to slow you down. (forget trying to corner at extreme high speeds.

Oh, to be young and foolish again. :)

I traded in my Honda 500-4 for the little brother of the Kawi 1000; a Kawi Z900. Was like going from diapers to big boy pants all at once

It is POSTED 70mph on Interstate highways, 45-60 on rural highways depending on curves
in towns residential streets can be 25-45 depending on number of lanes and if there are commercial buildings.
The drivers here have gotten really bad over the years for many reasons.

My state is 65 on the turnpike. In various places in the US like Montana in the 1990's there were speed limit signs that said Reasonable & Prudent. Then they made federal laws that said numerical values must be used.
