I took a man's underwear pad and put castor oil, coconut oil, sprinkled raw ginger and catclaw powder on it. I used surgical tape to adhere pad to the side of body. It actually worked until the pad got twisted and had to remove it.

I went through a bout of pain with hip bursitis about 6 weeks ago. It only bothered me at night, and went away after a week or so, but it was really painful while it lasted...

Mine comes primarily from sitting on my couch and hip displacement.

Several years ago I was diag with double hip bursitis, both
hips in other words...docs would do nothing because I did not
keep in shape, didn't excersize and all that, so I have suffered for years.....not fun, cannot walk but about 40 feet now days...ah well.....

I have hip bursitis in my left hip. Eight years ago, when we lived in PA and had a lot of steps in our house, it got really bad. My doctor said there was nothing he could do about it and I should ice it, take Tylenol, and try not to go up and down so many stairs, which wasn't possible at that time.

Then, we moved to AZ and our house was a ranch style (not many that aren't in AZ) and my hip felt so much better and it didn't bother me for 8 years. Then, we moved back to PA in February and bought a tri-level house. Our house sold so quickly in AZ (within 27 hours) that we didn't have much to choose from to buy in PA. Anyway, I've had my bursitis back ever since we bought this house. Some days, it's not too bad...other days, I'm stiff and can't hardly get upstairs. I'm going to talk to my doctor here (a new one) to see if a cortisone shot will be in order. I think because AZ was so dry that that helped keep my bursitis there at bay.

The worse time I have is getting in our truck. Even with running boards, it's still a struggle. :(

It happens that today I am having lots of pain in my
Left hip, usually it occurs in both hips at same time...ah
well, that is why I have heating pads!!! 👨‍🦯

Non-drug, non-prescription supplements that actually reduce swelling and inflammation enough for the pain to go away are available in most places. I've used several different ones of the many dozens available, and most have worked , totally relieving the pain with no side effects like coritosone has, or other drugs, and no addiction, and no danger to children or pets or birds.

When I was young and exercised six days a week I had chronic bursitis, now that I'm old and lazy I never do.

I do have chronic inflammation in my jaw (I still exercise it every day) and one eye. My doctor recommended Advil.

Colleen have you tried going up the stairs and in the truck backward?

care to share (please...)?
There's really a lot of different brands/ products/ natural and otherwise. I earnestly always try to find the natural, unadulterated product when I can. The body itself, everyone's body functioning correctly, produces anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidants that are the best ever, but there are times when not enough is produced or present to fully work. Enzymes is the key word, as well as anti-oxidant, to see the various helps available. Almost all health food stores have something, even if it is just pineapple or papaya. Gradually, all the manmadedrugs can be phased out for almost all circumstances, although it may take a year or two, and finding someone with years of experience to help.
