It's after Christmas and Chanukah but there's still leftovers. Does anyone make anything special for New Years? This is an Italian specialty...honey balls. There is a bakery the next town over that makes whole cases of these. You can call and reserve them, maybe a big box of handmade pastries too. There must have been forty people in line on Christmas eve.

oooh, Fur, the most delicious is in the 3rd pic, the one divided in 4. The pastry in the lower left is sfogliatella, my very favorite! I have tomorrow off, now I will have to go out to get some.
 
Our tradition for New Years Day is hubby gets the most ridiculous sized piece of meat to roast, preferably with two bones, one for each pup. I would be vegetarian given the choice but the rest of the family has a pig fest. I should make the blackeyed peas and cornbread for me.
