Homeless Guy

Aunt Mavis

I have met the enemy and he is us. Pogo
I have property that my grandpa owned, it’s a place where I can disappear mostly. It’s been developed all around it but I’m holding out because it’s such a meaningful piece. Over the years folks have seen me sneak in, seen smoke or even a tarp or two if you really look in. The tarps keep my firewood dry, welcome to the PNW. The first thing they assume is I’m a homeless guy and I must be responsible for the burglaries as well. (How tolerant) The police have visited me and I’ve gotten phone calls and messages about “The Homeless Guy”, lol. They didn’t realize I also had an insider on their Facebook watch page. Lol. Good times.

I can understand the neighbours. They’re basically trying to look after your place. They obviously have never met you. If someone did come in and it burned down, you’d be upset that no one reported him.

If I thought they were actually looking out for me or my lot I’d bake them all a pie. I of course know for a fact they’re intolerant based on the messages and from my insider on their Facebook page. Lol. I’m bewildered how they can have burglaries when they never go outside and their houses are 6 feet apart. I’d never consider those places if I was a robber, too conspicuous. Sheesh!!

Another side note, I picked up over 100 booze bottles in the last few years right near the entrance of my property. Now the road is one that only the residents travel on (for the most part) so I know for a fact it was one of them. Usually a pint of vodka, sometimes with a small amount left if the bottle. My gut tells me they’d buy it at the store about 3 blocks away and “down the hatch!” Wherever the bottle was at when they turned the corner, out it went. Same spot every time. After one call about “The Homeless. Guy” the caller got to hear a bit about one of their high-end neighbors with the alcohol problem. “Oh, we’ve noticed the little airline bottles” was her reply. Nah, full size lady, nice deflection but nah. Intolerance is evil in my opinion, no matter the reason.

That part I can relate to. Now, my house burned to the ground 2 months ago, (not due to people thankfully, just a wayward rodent), but, despite the house sitting on top of a hill overlooking at least 4 others homes, and another 4 out on the paved road, (less than 4/10ths of a mile and within eye-site), not one person saw or reported the fire. When my care taker friend went up to check the house, he was shocked to find nothing but smoldering ruins, as was the local fire chief and sheriff. (not one call).

I don't understand why you would "sleep out" on that property if you are not homeless ?
