Homicidesand other crimes will continue and rise, as long as killers get away with it. For them, only fear of the law may stop them and seemingly, they have little or no fear. Odds are in their favor. Ancient thought says that everyone would do something unethical and illegal if they could get away with it. Still true.
Politicians, by their inaction and leniency, are becoming pro-crime, unintentionally. My guess is that they feel threatened with their political or real lives.

The vast majority of gun related deaths are suicides, and shooters know their victims 99% of the time, and of that remaining 1%, a handful are victims shooting an attacker. So, the benefits of having all those weapons is.....................

Crime and murder rates are rising in many of our cities. Here, in Missouri, most of the perpetrators, AND victims are in the Minority areas. Those who think that the BLM movement and defunding the police would be a solution should be careful of what they Wish For.

Minorities I know in real life don't agree with BLM and defuding the police. Extremists make the news; regular people just aren't that interesting. What real life people do want is for racial profiling in law enforcement to be addressed and rightly so.

Thanks to my rich uncle Sam, I have had to kill. :( Wasn't sure I would be up to the task, but, when someone is trying their best to kill you, it becomes a bit easier. And that, is the reason that to this day, I carry. I have and always will refuse to be a victim.
I totally agree. As I have already stated, in the Marines we were taught to be ready at all times to defend ourselves in an unprovoked attack. I stand by that creed.

People seem to hold a grudge forever. The pandemic acted like a prison to many. What do many prisoners do or think about-escape, getting out legit and/or revenge on those they think wronged them. The pandemic simply slowed things down.

Tragic case in which a bitter cop waited 9 months to get his gun back after it was taken away. So what did he do. Just waited, waited and waited some more until he got it back and went out and shot his ex. After making her walk out of the bar like a frog to embarass her. Bitterman filled with thoughts of revenge. Actually obsessed. If he wanted revenge that much I'm sure there were other ways.

There's not much to say or do to a person who is willing to wait to toss their life away in the name of revenge. The authorities had nine months to assess his threat level and they blew it. Probably got a break being a ex cop.
