Hoodwinking of the Eating Public

I write about health, a lot. Things which trouble me about what's being done to consumers, very serious acts which should be regarded as bordering on criminal. In the case of GMOs use to modify planted crops such that they will tolerate massive amounts of herbicides, not pesticides necessarily, I feel this is criminal. I happen to personally have had experience with the herbicide 2,4-D, a very potent estrogen-mimicking herbicide which winds up stored in human fat tissues, and presents itself to every nursing infant in mothers' breast milk.

I urge the significance of this article be considered:

It's not only plant crops that are potentially harmful with all this GMO stuff....but, also, most of our meat and poultry products. The commercial meat and poultry producers lace their cattle, pork, chicken and turkey feed with any number of steroids and growth hormones. We have a lot of turkey farms in our area, and they can take a turkey from a chick to maturity in about 12 to 15 weeks. In a natural setting, a turkey usually takes 8 or 9 months to reach maturity. These growth hormones and steroids stay in the flesh and we consume them when we eat the product. I often wonder if this isn't one of the primary causes for the epidemic of Obesity.

Then, there's fish...especially the imported varieties...which often are raised in little more than pools of sewage.

Bottom line...unless a person has a huge garden, and raises their own beef, poultry, etc., virtually everything we eat is probably contaminated with some unnatural chemicals, etc. This is all driven by the need to keep food prices low for the consumers, and profits flowing to the producers.
