Housing Association Bans Wooden Sheds Garden Furniture Paddling Pools as Fire Risks UK

I detest "Associations". They are usually run by old biddies, and Hitler wannabees. Yet as much as I abhor them, is there real evidence that any of their rules are based on science? I heard that the UK is experiencing a rather long draught era, with this summer being extreme???????
Or is this another overreach of "authority" by an association regime????
I hate those associations. My ex used to live in one. She got a "warning"-(a yellow post-it on your door). Her cat was seen looking out the window. Horrors!!!!

Thank you for the replies, I have to tell you though,
Housing Association here actually own the buildings
and rent them to people to live in, some do have crazy
rules and regulations.

They are not a group of residents.

Mike.

It's not that the pools will catch fire. The idea is they will obstruct firefighters if something else catches fire.

When I lived in a small apartment, I decided to store my bicycle under the stairs. I was told not to, for a similar reason.

I know, the firefighters could have a problem dealing with stuff inside dwellings too, but it's hard for landlords, etc., to control that.

It's probably an insurance thing.

Associations in an active community can be a good thing, but all to often they turn into annoying cliques due to a lack of participation by the majority of the members.

Housing associations in the UK are the Social Housing Landlords...a law unto themselves

ETA...that said, I've never herd of this particular named Housing association, and it would seem in fact they are essentially a private housing association of Indian origin, and not Government run or owned ..and who are a group of disabled people who joined together to create rented properties for disabled people. Given that the tenant and his family have disability issues it seems rather odd that they should be taken to task for a small paddling pool

My ex lived in one. She had an electric lawn mower. On a Sunday at 11:45 she started to mow her lawn. Well, in the inch thick print out of the rules, you can't mow the grass until noon, on a Sunday. She got a $75 fine. But what really bothered me was which one of her smiling neighbors ratted her out. Who was that petty to do that? It's an ELECTRIC lawn mower and it's 15 minutes before zero hour?

I would have thought a full swimming pool would be an asset in case of fire. I know here in the rural areas, swimming pools have been used to help put the fire out.

That's a fire hazard?

Lots of research has been done on the causes of fire, I would think any fire expert would know if wooden lawn furniture and the like was a risk. I kind of doubt it is, and that these people used any real expertise.
I don't know... I wasn't there .. 🤷‍♀️ I'm just posting the picture of the paddling pool on the link to the story..
