How do they sleep

Salutations my fellow senior citizens. I recently bought 2 suction cap type grab/hand rails online for $7 each from Asia, which work fine no complaints at all. What compelled me to write was seeing local sites directed at seniors selling the exact same item for $60 to $109 each. I have reached an age where shouting at the wind seems not only my one option but a good thing to do.

Are there high import taxes on those kind of items, do you know? We have a swap meet here periodically and,I've seen large boxes delivered to some houses that seem like there are some items in them which are meant for sale and they have connections for the sellers to get and sell them at a discount.

Possibly there is a difference in quality.

lots of things one can get cheap and nasty alternatives - not always good value though

Please, I beg of you do NOT use Suction grab rails in the bathroom, or anywhere actually, they are very unsafe,... Please always have them drilled securely into the wall ....

I would not trust any suction cup grab bar, even if it cost $500! Having a bar give way would be the worst scenario for injury. You will want any type of grab bar firmly attached to a stud, even if it has to outside the preferred location.

Exerting a force and then have something suddenly give way is always good for an injury. I am currently nursing a 1/2" cut from a knife that suddenly cut through some duct tape - luckily it was a very dull knife!

I ordered 3 stainless steel grab bars from Ebay in July, 2017 for $12.80 and installed 2 of them in my
friend's apartment who lives about 125 miles from me, one by the toilet and the other one by the shower.

I don't usually travel that far, but she continues to tell me how thankful she is that she has them.
So you don't need to get expensive grab bars. I did, however, get longer more sturdy bolts to install them.

You're a good friend to her, John. Your kindness is admirable.
