How do you choose a duct cleaner and repair service?

I had my furnace return fixed so now we can change our furnace filters from inside the house instead of crawling up into the attic, from the carport, and changing the filter there. Today we get some more electrical fixed. Next on the list is to get the ducts cleaned and HVAC repaired if needed.

The house inspection showed the HVAC needed to be repaired. It was supposed to be done, but idk if this was done so I will have them rechecked before winter. How will I know if the job gets done? The HVAC is in the attic.
