How Do You Feel About Rainy Days?

I love rain but have had too much this year, would never have imagined saying that in drought ridden California but there was so much flooding this year.
I read that there is so much snow on some of the mountains that ski resorts will be open til June.
We are getting the same storms as you are, just a day later. We also have record deep snow.

I have skied Gran Targhee in Idaho in June, it happens now and then. Snowmobiled once on the 4th of July in Wyoming.

Yes, you guys have had quite a lot this year. Yeesh.

I'm from Southern California and am familiar with "monsoon season," but I understand this year it was out of hand.
Yes, it definitely was in Central California.
levees broke, rivers flooded, long power outages etc.
One city hit hard was Pajaro in Monterey County…people still can’t get back into their homes..maybe for months.
A lot of ag fields were flooded, probably raise costs of fruits and vegetable.

I don't mind rain, but I dislike the dullness that sometimes goes with it. My house becomes darker and more depressing when the sun does not shine at all. But too much sun is too hot and makes the plants die. I prefer a bit of sun along with some rain showers. And a rainbow too would be nice!

I’ve always loved the rain. It is usually such a rarity in coastside California and when it rains it is usually a little warmer. So two of my favorite things to do in the rain has been to walk the dogs, get a little soggy and then coming home for grilled cheese sandwiches. Once I started gardening rain has always represented a prime opportunity to weed. Once we got a hot tub the cherry on top for either activity has been a heat restoring soak.

This year has been ridiculous but all and all, as a gardener, I will never complain about rain.

I too like a good old fashion summer thunderstorm .... But it seems anymore, everytime it storms ... we get tornado threats/warnings .... like we are having as I type.

I like rain. It feeds the plants outside, refills areas from which birds and other animals drink, it fills reservoirs, etc. Also, it is better than snow.

Cousin's dogs get wet, but rarely down to the skin as they have thick double coats. My dog has a raincoat. It's simple enough to clean up mud they track into the house, so rain isn't a problem. I happily take care of the dogs.

I can't drive in rain because the oncoming cars' headlights blind me, and I find it hard to distinguish the lines on the road. No ophthalmologist has ever found an explanation for this. Now that I have cataracts, it is worse. Luckily, I don't have anywhere that I urgently have to go, and if I do, I can get a ride from a friend who can see.

I wouldn't like it if I had a long commute to a job, for example, or if I was making a long distance trip by auto. This supposing I could see. On trips, I end up staying in a hotel until the rain goes away.

In PA, we had sudden, short cloudbursts. My collie and I used to dance in the rain during the summer. We had so much fun!

I like jumping in puddles, too, especially when kids are with me.

I like the rain, especially in spring because it washes away the dirty snow that was left. I know it starts what I call "mud season" but it has to come in order to have the plants come up. I love when it turns everything lime green. We are getting rain here presently and it is gray and was cool but it is going to warm up. Then spring will have sprung!

Does a miserable wet buckets of rain do something to your usual sunny disposition?

Do you get cranky, or sad, or just snuggle in and wait for nicer weather?

Do you only go out if you absolutely have to go out/
Usually depressed. Sometimes listening to rain while lying cosy in bed can be lulling.
