I'm wondering if the forum would be more friendly if we ban politics.
If you banned politics, there's always someone who will stick in their oar whenever possible
to promote their own agendum. Might as well leave things the way they are.
We can always skip their posts if we don't like their style.

Agreed, too easy to get sucked into that cesspool.... And it really just seems to turn a great friendly forum into an angry mob.....I'm wondering if the forum would be more friendly if we ban politics.

I have already banned the politics from my viewing! Plenty of that elsewhere on the media/internet!Since politics is reserved to one sub-forum, which we can unsubscribe to if we so desire, it suits me. I try to stay out of that discussion, as I joined this forum for friendly discussion, and to learn things about retirement, and such benefits.
I enjoy this forum. You don't have to get into the politics if you don't want to.
I see where you are coming from and completely understand wanting to ban politics. If I were you I woul want to, too. Peace to you all. RuthThanks everyone for your input. Many times I seriously wanted to ban politics when good members were driven away by heated political discussions, or a nice member became rude and aggressive when posting in politics, or when the political forum was full of hatred despite 95% moderation time was spent on politics.
But, as you all suggested, everyone has the option to ignore the political forum, and a dedicated forum is better than scattered discussions. So, banning politics will not be considered in the future.
