Very happy to have you back in one piece again,...What brought it on Pappy ?..anything in Particular?
No one seems to know what brings it on. Had lots of water around heart which causes shortness of breath. Got heart rate down after some meds they gave me. Took 3 days to work.

Well I can only tell you that this handyman is an absolute diamond find...

He's a cockney londoner.. who never stops chatting.. but i have to say what a fabulous worker. ..Super Fast ...and really cheap...

He had my barn roof all fixed, and the new bolts and the latch straightened out on my 6 foot side gate by mid-day.. he didn't start until after 9.30am....and they are fabulous jobs.. so neat , and firmly fixed...

Then he assembled my new standard lamp... then measured, then attached all the picture wire to my big picture frames , drilled the holes in the walls and hung my heavy pictures..all expertly measured out....to match the existing ones...

..then he took down my old rose trellis from the wall on the front of my house and attached a brand new wooden trellis.. screwed and bolted into the wall...and finally he fixed the kitchen door where it had come half off when I fell against it last year..people will remember who were here then..

...and after all that he was finished by 3pm..... fantastic !!

These are jobs that have been waiting to be done for the last year.. and I'm over the moon I found someone trustworthy and most importantly superb at his job... and it's all done now...
Wow! What a gem!

I haven't bought a pint in a pub for ages, but I would expect around £5. The beers that I drink all cost about £2 a pint in a shop. The Scottish government has imposed a minimum price that alcohol can be sold at. They say that this is for health reasons, but it is really just an attack on social drinking.

I like a good 'hoppy' beer that has real taste. There are too many so called 'lagers' that have no taste and are sold half frozen.
I heard you folks in the UK enjoy your beers and often get tad carried away and the chances of a Yank going there doing jokes about the UK and walking out of the pub alive are slim to none .

As I do every morning right after breakfast, I played games on my phone that challenge my mind. I did some financial stuff… accounting for my son and me, updated my budget spreadsheets and balanced my checkbooks.

This afternoon I decided to take the HOA check to the community mailbox so the managing agent could pick it up when she was on site today. Since the recyclable area is only a few steps away from the box, I took out the recyclables rather than waiting for my son to do it. Somehow my kitchen wound up being a hot mess so I had to load and run the dishwasher twice today.

I spent some time on the phone tonight with two cousins, trying to find the source of and verify some troubling news after a call from our "matriarch cousin". More about that when I get updated information.

I live in Cheltenham - it does rain a lot though. When I lived in London (in Kingston) I could see stars from the garden also. There was less light pollution there than there is around this flat.
I had no idea it rained a lot in Gloucester...mind you it's realtively close to Birmingham isn't it , where it does rain a lot..

I'm not in the city, I'm 20 miles north in the rural shires..:D

We have very little light pollution here in N.Aberdeenshire, so as well as reasonable stargazing, the coastal areas often get to see the Aurora.

I forgot all about Shrove Tuesday. We don't bother with these occasions, they seem totally irrelevant.
I never do either... which is why I was surprised at the pancake delivery from my neighbours...it didn't dawn on me until a few hours later :D

Ash Wednesday. Good morning. No tornadoes here during the night, just lots of rain and wind. It moved fast @hearlady so maybe you'll be as lucky as we were.

DD is taking me to the garden center again this morning because I need about 12-15 more dianthus and want to get them while they're still $1 each.

I also need a couple of packets of cosmos seeds. I plan to spread them and some zinnia seeds in a big area, about 10ft x 15ft where there's nothing growing. They'll be pretty, and it's cheaper than bedding plants. If they're scattered today, they should give us flowers by Easter.

The monkey grass is still waiting for me...

@hawkdon You still got it wrong. It's sNOw, not sNoW. Tsk, tsk.

Oh, look! The sun came out☀️. Yay.

Good morning (I think--kind of bleary)

I am clinging to my coffee cup like a shipwrecked sailor clings to a floating plank... eek I am so tired after working two days, then got woke up before 6am. I want to go to Ash Wednesday service this AM and I have a chiropractor appt. right after that. Also still gotta do a couple things for patients that couldn't be done yesterday...

There is definitely a nap in my future this afternoon. Til then, coffee Do Your Magic!

"They" dropped our expected high for the day, to around 40°F/4.4°C.....and windy! Gusts up to 60mph/96.6Kph!! I'm glad that I'm staying home today! I'm not sure what mischief I'll be getting into, but I don't expect to be outside very much! 🙃

I have been taking a partial break from my online time, so I'm not up to date with what has been going on in everyone's life. I just saw that @Pappy has been under the weather....sending you hugs and hope you are feeling better! 💕
