Absolutely horribly humid today so hot due to the humidity levels , you..know when your specs steam up and you can't see and you have to keep taking them off to clean them...?🥵😎

My husband used to say that I always had a tale to tell, and I have one today.

if you remember I called Costco yesterday to ask if they had my petrol cap which I left behind, I didn't describe it so when the lady said the garage had it in their hut and described it to me I knew she had the right one. She told them I'd go and fetch it today.

I got there the guy in the hut knew nothing about it. he searched everywhere , drawers the lot.. he said it was his first day back, so he quizzed me a little about who I spoke to etc... then he made a phone call to his supervisor who said he'd thrown it out !!...Thrown it out ??? After I called them yesterday, and said I'd be there today??

So the bloke in the hut went through the garbage and pulled out my petrol cap and 2 others.!!!

I mean what sort of mentaility does this ?

After I'd been to Costco, I met up with my friend and we went over to a Historic market town 40 mile round trip which is somewhere I go several times a year...

we had lunch, pub garden was quite busy because it's so warm..

IMG-8046-1.jpg

then we had a look around the Vintage Emporium... we didn't buy anything because a lot of it was overpriced.. and it's a mix of antiques and second hand goods, so nothing is protected from the hands of anyone including children..

I was tempted by this large heavy cake book, dated 1936... because of it's age, (I don't bake cakes) ..... until I saw the price

Frittering away another hot hot day. We are cruising around this afternoon to look at a house…undoubtedly one we will not buy. We look occasionally…but high prices are a real bummer. And we have a rather long list of wants that add to the price. Maybe I will bake a cake. Send us some rain folks…

A lovely Russian lady patted me & held me!!!!!!!! with such affection and caring!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was first one in car brought home.
@Pepper, this reminds me of a patient I had one time…. Older lady from NY NY living with her daughter here in town. She was bedbound, but kept her spirits up.

one afternoon I visited; she was my last patient of the day… I was worn out. As I leaned over her to listen to her heart rate through my stethoscope, she reached up and gently cupped my cheek in her hand. “You looked tired,” she said softly; she patted the mattress next to her. “Come… lay down and take a nap.”

I ‘bout cried. It’s lovely to be ‘seen’ and understood. I’ve never forgotten her.

It's 20 to Midnight... I've just got back from town...

It's s hot,🥵 29 deg in my house..No AC...and so I went up to the barn to get some cold drinks... and there was None ...00000 none..I couldn't believe it... so I had to drive to town, to get the Supermarket which is open until Midnight...

I haven't been driving in the dark for ages... but what a joy that is.... I hardly saw a car all the way there, I didn't have to stop at any junctions..no roundabouts ... and the supermarket car park had only one car parked in it.... ...Maybe the secret is to do the grocery shopping at 11pm... @Muskrat I wish I could send you some rain. I have had rain of some degree every day. My mowing is so far behind it isn’t worth talking about. I have a hefty lawnmower attachment on my four-wheel-drive tractor but the grass is even getting to be too tall for it.

just when I think that maybe I can get out there and mow for a couple hours in the evening, it rains while I’m feeding the horses. Tonight the rain was a gully washer. You being in the United States you know what a gully washer is, it’s the same thing as a frog strangler rain.😂😂

The critter Chiropractor, was here at 7:30 this morning so as to avoid the worst of the humidity, which was bad enough as it was at 7:30 AM. I already had both of the big barrel fans on high.

The little Arab needed quite a bit of work so I had to shut the horses out of the main pasture for the day because I did not want him running up and down the hills in the main pasture and undoing what the Chiropractor, tried to fix.

My Dutch Warmblood is somewhere between 29 and 31 years. He is more than happy to stand in the barn and watch the Arab run all over the place so I wasn’t worried about him. He also got adjusted. He can put himself out of place just by laying down, rolling, and getting up again because of the injuries that he has.

He is evaluated frequently. The vet sees him twice a year, and the chiropractor sees him every five weeks. I have professional eyes on him all the time in case mine start to lie to me; which they do frequently lie to me. I have laid seven horses to rest in my lifetime six of them between 27 and 30 1/2years old. It never gets easier, so I want professional eyes on these senior fellows to make sure I’m not making any mistakes.

My 29-31 Dutch Warmblood who more than earned a nice retirement. He’s as sweet as he is big.

The 14 yr old Arabian who is on loan as a companion for my Dutch warm blood. He is full of himself, but his owner has done a great job training him. She’s had him since he was two years old, so it was quite a sacrifice on her Part to let him come to my farm.

A small freezer turning bottled water into bottled ice works great. One slowly melting following you around can last your day of activity too.

Your horses look well cared for Imogene! ... :coffee: ...

This morning I rotated some stock and refilled my cabinets. I also did some financial stuff. Took a longer nap than expected and woke up at 1:40 p.m. I felt a little off kilter today and even got a dizzy spell while sitting in my recliner talking on the phone. It's a weird feeling to get while sitting or laying down!

The Risperidone did help. It just took hours to kick in. Just when I needed it to. I waited an hour and a half for the car to pick me up to take me home. When I got in the car, finally, I broke down. I cried "I want to go home." A lovely Russian lady patted me & held me!!!!!!!! with such affection and caring!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was first one in car brought home.

I didn't scream or yell. I just quietly cried. Like a broken down old lady. Which I was. But I didn't panic.
I'm so sorry you are going through this! One of the problem with medical transports is that the wait can be long. I had a friend who was telling me about that. I'm glad the Russian lady was there for you when you needed it.

@Imogene …that warmblood!!!!! Be still my heart!!!!!!

I would give anything to see his papers, but he was taken out of a bad situation and they didn’t travel with him.

Here is Duncan in his Glory Days as a show jumper on the A Circuit on the West Coast. I was told he was in the blue more than he wasn’t, and was ridden by a teenager. Things went downhill for him after she left for college. The parents had boarded him , so he needed to be sold. He was a “dog’s hair” away from making that long black train trip to Central Mexico when the lady who gifted him to me, bought him.

Sadly that’s the fate of many of these great show horses when they can no longer perform due to injuries and health issues.

When Duncan‘s time comes, he will be laid to rest on the horse side of my Pet Sematary.

Thank you papa tiger🤠. They are the loves of my life🥰🥰.

yes good tip, I've done that for a long time to travel with . I freeze a bottle of water, and then take it with me in the car even if I'm only going shopping, that way it stays cold all the time I'm out..

A little cloudy at the moment 11.45pm........74 deg but the forecast predicts it will be HOT and sunny again by this afternoon... 🌞🌞

I just had the new garden table delivered.. it's very heavy due to it being glass topped....

Last night I had another weird dream,. It seemed to go on all night.. but the short version is, I was on a train... a luxurious old fashioned style train which was packed with young men ...a sports team... .. and I was going to Australia... and I got off at a rest stop to get a drink in India ( I Know I know ) , and the train left without me with my handbag still on the seat with every penny I owned in it.

So I tried desperately to find someone among the greasy dirty.. ( in my dream ) lazy tax drivers who would take me to catch the train... and eventually found one who was charging me loads of money.... only to fiind when he dropped me off... it was the wrong train.. he'd dropped me off in Morocco... and now I was stranded with no taxi , no money... and no bag:eek:

I didn't sleep well during the night due to a car alarm that kept going off,was awaken at 2pm, then 4pm
I finally got back to sleep for 2 hrs
My early morning walk, at 6:50 temp was 75,cloudy with slight breeze as I walked around the building once before breakfast
This morning, Marcia is picking me and neighbor/friend Bill up at 10am. She'll drop me off at the house, dog sitting Tage for couple hrs. She's taking Bill to see his new doctor at 11am. When I get back here, hope to take another walk if its not too humid or raining. I've already called in my dinner order{has to be in by 2:30} will pick it up in the cafe at 5:30
This evening tackle today's NYT,read my book

God morning, I had a stupid dream last night, too. I was working for a man I used to work for and he had a choice between me and an older lady to keep our job. The older lady was begging him to keep her job. I felt sorry for her and asked the boss to let me go. He said he was reluctant to do it but did. I was worried about what I would tell my husband. And then my husband was calling for me to get up, in real life. I am glad it was just a dream.

Now it is cloudy but showers to spring up in the afternoon.

Stay well and have a good day to everyone. :)

@hollydolly, too bad you can’t get paid mileage for that dream!!

Oh My it's HOT ! they say it's 80 deg ..i don't believe them..it really feels more like 90... jeez.... 🥵 🌞🌞🌞

I got home , and even tho' I'd gone out wearing a cotton sleeveless top..I was boiling whn I got home... had to get straight in a cold shower... remember no AC here at the house...

I went shopping for clothes today... jeans in particular at a certain store where I always buy them, it's the only one that sells these jeans for many miles ... then I had a mooch around the shops there and the Mall.. I haven't been in that town for at least a year.......I bought a whole bunch of other summer clothes in another deaprtment store... a cotton /linen dress.. some capri leggings... a bunch of vests ( Tanks) in various pastel colours and other bits.....

I was surprised how busy not only the town was but the motorway... everyone must have taken the day off due to the hot weather we've had all week...

I got parking for free for 3 hours which makes it a lot more coomfortable to shop knoing you're not running up the parking fee... and so when I got ack to the car I went inot a new store that sells discounted food.. mainly drinks, and cakes and canned goods, close to their sell by date..... It's a new store, I'd never seen it before.....so I got a whole tray of sugar free hartley jellies ( jello) 6 flavoured fizzy sodas.... 3 cans of peas... and it cost less than the tray of jellies would have cost on their own in tesco...

I'm sitting here now, in a sleevelss top with a fan on a box right next to my elbow.... 🥵
🌞🌞

Before I went out to town, I topped up my oil and water in the car..... I'm hoping if I feel like it tomorrow , I'll drive down to the beach... It's about an hour and a half away but it's on the busiest motorway in the uk, so I really need to go early if do decide to go so I don't get stuck in traffic jams... especially having no AC in the car !

@hollydolly, you seem to be doing a lot in the hot weather. In Florida where I live, it is way too hot without air conditioning.

The sales sound great where you shopped the sweets and cans of peas. Also clothes shopping sounds great, too. I have to rely on online sales both for food and clothes.

Stay cool the best you can. You are so resourceful. :)

Thanks Rae...I actually prefer to be outside when it's hot like this because of no AC here...... if I'm not out I'm in the garden doing something usually..

... funny enough, I was on the second floor of the dept store today... and I though OMG, it's really hot here, my sunglasses were slipping off my face.. and when I asked about AC the guy said, that only the ground floor gets the AC they don't get it upstairs...

I really felt for him because he was wearing his work uniform, and there was me in a sleeveless top and very hot... so poor them working upstairs... he must have been roasting..
