How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

It's just so good to see you all, all of you, thank you for being here every morning I open computer.
Took a Parkinson drug last night, for first time.
Woke up feeling strange, can't describe it, somehow out of body, so I came here and here you all are, like you are every day, to bring me some normalcy.

Today is Library Book Club at 3pm, which seems so far away. Wasn't able to really read book, Harlem Shuffle, as I was dealing with Parkinson diagnosis. Regret that, as I was liking book.

Oh, I remember why I didn't read it. Having trouble reading indoors. I would think I forgot how to read, except I am able to read outside, where I must schlep to park, and couldn't as awful weather of clouds and rain for weeks, which depressed me greatly. Now sun is out, going to get extremely hot, a heat wave.
...so you got a second Diagnosis then ?.. and they've confirmed you have parkinsons's disease ?... So now begins a round of specialists for quite a long time...:(

Anyway, this is the message this thread and this forum gives to us all.. whatever is going on in your life, for good or for bad... you can be sure that when you need some ''normalcy '.. we'll be here....

I'm not rushing for a second opinion as my DIL arranged an appointment for me in August at a respected clinic at the hospital I use. August was the earliest appointment. At first it was to be in September, but DIL got it down to August. No point in another opinion by a neighborhood doctor before then.

The medicine I took last night for Parkinson's seems to be working, so I'll go with it for now. Gives me a strange feeling, but the first med given was way too much for me. Tried it twice and both times woke up feeling nauseous and totally out of it, whatever it is.

Yes, holly, when I come here each morning and see people I know, it feels real nice.

Today has been a good day so far…. Got several things checked off my to-do list..

heard Back from a local hardware/ building supply place that was obtaining a quote for me on indoor replacement doors…. I wanted the kind that have slats in the middle and allow airflow. Haha, for two doors, they want about $1100.00 ::hard pass:: I will keep my eyes open at home salvage places

now sitting outside in the shade enjoying the breeze and a post-lunch cup of coffee.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Played 9 holes with 3 friends, shot a 42, which is good for me.

Bought Amtrak tickets to NYC for next week. Am helping out my son as my daughter-in-law is stranded in Israel and he is stuck with two small boys and a difficult job. I fill in the time between when the nanny leaves and he gets home from work.

Very hot here so I'm planning to stay indoors this afternoon. Will read, write and/or fool around with watercolors.

Laundry day. Two loads done. Took my daughter to library where she volunteers. Gotta go pick her up soon. Repaired her "ripped jeans" as they were too ripped for her. Just finished Ted Lasso yesterday. Any of you Brits like it? I thought it was excellent. I love the message it had about becoming a better person. Yeah, it's hot today but hoping the rains get here later......

Rather busy this week with my new vehicle, preparing my old vehicle for dismantling, kp lab blood testing, and continuing to set up my new desktop computer. But glad it is Friday because tomorrow by 1pm will be weekend dancing outdoors again for hours. This evening is also the summer equinox, so a new season starts.

The beats may be erratic, @StarSong; your heart is big, generous, and loving. Be well.
Thank you - what a lovely thing to say. ❤️

Having a small crowd tomorrow for pizza - just 14 of us - so I'm going to start the dough and sauce in a few minutes. The weather will top out at 77° tomorrow so I won't be fighting high outdoor temps.

Worked on some business invoicing and spreadsheets for a few hours this morning, then hit the kitchen, then came back to the spreadsheets. I'm taking a short break from them as I check in with you peeps!

Life expectancy is still average but you need to make huge decisions on how you will be able to physically get around.
Half steps, wheelchair ramps, power chairs, They called them Hoyer chairs here in the states then, not doing hard physical stuff soon.

was driving a very short distance today and as i turned into their parking lot, the side of my leg/hip cramped. whoa. parked the car, hopped out and thought what was that! hours later, it felt like a sore muscle cramp and then it disappeared like magic. i googled all kinds of scary things! eek.
Drink a couple ounces of fresh cool water every hour. You are letting yourself get dehydrated.

It's 2.20pm, it's currently 90 deg here.. and barely any sunshine... horribly hot in the garden, and during the night was awful, even with the fan blowing in my face I couldn't get cool enough to sleep

There is a steam rally on at one of the villages, I was going to go to it... but no, not in this heat and high humidity....

Morning all folks.....I am surviving this heat and pain wave....Temp at 6am was 81F deg, wowee....will get close to 100 today, very humid also...not going out for any reason...slept well
last eve after doubling my sleep pills.....I feel among the living
tho not 100% yet....Pain in left paw has lessened, but it is still
tender/touchy, so take it easy again today...helped to talk to
my housekeeper/caregiver yesterday ...she is to go under the
knife about her eyes later this month and early July, so might
miss her visits/work a couple days....ah well....I'm sure watching a lot of Roku streaming stuff nowadaysa....LOL...take care peeps and catch u later on...love u all.....:coffee::devilish:🤩

@Buckeye, I'm so sorry your sweetie is in a rehab/nursing facility. They're not a fun place to be. My advice to your S/O: do everything the PT and OTs ask, and more.

What I learned from my DIL (who is an OT), plus my mother's and inlaws' stints: When a patient's progress meets the goals set by PT & OT, or they stop improving, they get sprung. Patients doing the minimum, meaning only during the PT & OT sessions, are rarely discharged early.

Those whose families walk the halls with them, or bring things like fidget puzzles for them to manipulate (depending on why they're in the facility) have the best chance of going home sooner than expected.

I wish you both the best.

Mom got hit with a $600, bill for necessary blood work which medicare wont pay and she's worried sick. I'm trying to help but it's the weekend. And I haven't been telling her all the news in the world so she won't worry but she still goes out by herself and bought a newspaper and now she's worried about nuclear war too. This is sad I'm sorry to say. :(

Irresponsible reporters make me sick. Sure wish those posing as journalist would be real journalist and just report the facts and let listeners and readers draw their own conclusions. Stop the scare of a worse case scenario just to promote their own agenda.
