What is it with not be able to sleep once you are in bed?
Hubby & I had an active day.

I got up & read some of library book ,, dozed a bit.
finally back to bed,, then hubby gets up for potty break.

Finally we went to sleep.
Awake around 6 a.m.

Its a sunny but cool morning so far.
Hubby has load of firewood to deliver.

I managed to get the Dyson running ,, then it shut down.
The canister was full.

Every time I dump the canister it falls apart.:(
If I want to purchase new parts,,looks like online is the way to go.

Emailed son hoping there was still a store near him where he could get parts.
Guess that was wish full thinking,, as he hasn't replied.

Hope everyone has a good day.

@holly. ,, get better,, soon,, we need you.

Hi everyone. These days I get so nervous about doing things. Today I have managed to compose an email and attached documents to it. I've been worrying about doing this since yesterday morning. I suppose it doesn't sound much to most but I seem to have lost all my confidence. I hope this year I will get better and stress out about things less.
If I have posted this in the wrong place I do apologise. Perhaps someone will move it for me. Thank you

I Optimized and Maximized and moved plants and transplanted plants. Now it's too hot to continue. So I won't. I'll sit inside in the a/c and think Optimizing thoughts and watch mindless stuff on the telly while waiting for my as-yet-unknown mentor to unlock my potential:ROFLMAO:.

@AlainD I understand. The difference between you and me is that I never knew how to attach stuff in the first place! When I have to send an email, I spend a silly amount of time composing it in my head, then have to ask DD or DSIL how to attach whatever it is.

I have a blood clot in my left leg. I can't walk without severe pain. This started around July 10, according to my diary, with numbness in leg which graduated to agony. I see my surgeon on Wednesday, my son is taking me. Then I will be scheduled for stent surgery. I know the routine, it's been going on for years.

Today, I have Library Book Club. It is only two blocks away, but I'm not sure I can do it. I will try.

It's been one thing after another with me for months now. Hard to put on a happy face with all this pain, mental, now physical. Not being able to walk has only added to my mental problems of loneliness.

I feel guilty for complaining, especially since @hollydolly is suffering so. But complain I must as life is really hurting for months, and now this.

Hope I can make it to the Library. Last time I was out, yesterday early morning, I couldn't walk a block, though did to go to local pharmacy, a block away.

I will take this space to sent good wishes to Hollydolly. I really feel for you, my friend and hope you will feel better soon.

@Pepper,, sorry to read about the blood clot.
The doctor didn't tell you how to treat it or give you meds for it?

I think I would lose my cool if I were you.

Best of luck getting out & about today.
It's happened many many times before, almost 20 years. The doctor will insert a stent into the vein to open it up. I'm on blood thinners for it, to prevent it, but...........didn't.

I've already lost my cool. Thanks for the good wishes, I hope I can make the walk.

Nicely cool marine air with thin overcast has pushed in over the SFBA this Friday 9am PDT 7/18/2025 morning. Continuing prepping for my group backpacking trip in a week. This morning, have been working on my food and in the process getting at items, have removed all packaging and boxes from then cleaned 6 kitchen cupboards while tossing out a modest amount of older dry food that I should have placed in Ziplock bags to prevent getting stale. Yesterday afternoon completed custom installing anti-theft screws into my new California license plates.

All my gear is strewn out across my residence in organized groupings. This morning organized much of my food within sealable plastic bags that is part of the anti-bear smell proofing process along with bear-proof canisters such will later go into. Sealed seams on several clothing and gear items with Flex Seal spray that are drying and airing outside my front door. Although most of western California is bone dry for months after May, I need to be rain proof because the towering Eastern Sierra Nevada often has strong cumulus thunderstorms with lightning.

Yesterday Thursday late afternoon after a busy day working on much, was terrific fun enjoying the walk to outdoor cover band rock concert I posted earlier with an especially lively local crowd with much dancing. Those guys in the photo rocked! Later this afternoon will drive about 35 miles southwest for a Journey tribute band Faithfully Live that has an especially talented Steve Perry capable range vocalist backed by experienced powerful musicians. Was at the same fun outdoor amphitheater venue a couple months ago, now one of my favorites.

Extreme heat and humidity so working a bit slower than normal. Got all this done by noon.

Put free plants out by road.
move some railroad ties for water retention. (glad I have a tractor for help)
mowed the front yard.
re-planted flower bulbs & move to front yard.
reset hydraulic jacks under left rear of motor home. (this side has a weak lift cylinder)
disassemble swing in front yard and put away for now.

I have missed the last three senior brunches at IHOP mostly because if illness. Today I got ready to go and waited to see how I felt. Well, I made it and it was nice.
This afternoon the new neighbor came to help with the cats. There were four kittens but two have been missing for days and we fear the worst. We trapped one kitten, (black with white swoosh onPorch Kitty 3.jpgCat Family.jpg nose) then the mom and she picked up the other kitten (tabby) with gloved hands. They will be returned once they are neutered. and have flea and/or worm treatments. I hope they forgive us. I miss them already.

I'm learning now the drawback to being kind and generous to little furry creatures in that live in the park. I am right now looking at four squirrels looking at me saying "Well? Where's lunch?"

I did buy two bags of chips (I know that's a bit much salt) but the buggers ate all of them and are begging for more. I'll hold off for a few days. Let them scrounge the nuts they buried.
