Good morning to everyone. Another sunny and not too hot day. Not hot here is still hot with the temperature reading but not being over 100 degrees feels better. Another disturbance coming off Africa, so will have to watch it in the following days.

@hollydolly, I hope all goes well with you at the hospital and your hand and arm.🤗

Everyone have a good day. :)

I am at my nephew's house taking care of his pets while he and his lovely wife are on vacation.

The two Presa Canarios are really wonderful dogs and I adore them. They seem to be taking care of me.

They follow me everywhere. When we get in the king-size bed to sleep, I can't get out of bed without waking them up.

When they hear a noise, the male dog stands across me. Today I was thinking about slithering under him to get off the couch. Worried he would land on me...130 lbs of dog.

Visions of burst organs. He is a graceful dog. He returned to his former position without touching me.

Their mouths are so big I could fit my fist inside with room to spare.

They are so loving and friendly with me.

A big day of work ahead for me. The deadlines never end! But that's good. Publishing has gotten incredibly competitive, and I'm grateful to have the work.

I do hope to take a break at some point and clean the car inside and out.

That's about it on my end. I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning folks!
Sunny & cool this morning,,, have send hubby off to the grocery store to get a couple of items.
Am trying a new recipe & didn't have all the ingredients I needed.

Showed him the box of what I need with suggestion of getting some chicken , too.
Wonder what he will get?

@WheatenLover , can you get pictures of the dogs,, I have never heard of that breed.

Other than trying the new recipe,, have no other plans for today.

@holly,, I forgot the combination to the small safe I use.
We called couple different places that may not have 'cut' it open.
Prices ranged from $900 down to $300 or $400.

So we took the safe to a friend who cut it open in about 15 - 20 minutes.
Of course the safe is no longer use able.

Hubby told me that can put my important stuff in his gun safe.
$900 to open a safe ?..OMG..thank goodness you had a friend who could do it

It's 5.20pm now... it's been a very kind of stranged day weatherwise..Warm, and sunny yet there's a feeling of storm behind it...

My appt to day was at 1.30pm I got to the hospital just after 1pm,,, I'm always early for everything ... no-one t reception,, stood for 10 mins and an irritable very aged receptionist came out and said ''there's no-one here they're all at lunch, they won't be back until 2pm''... so I say why was I given a 1.30 appt then ?.. she tutted and said she hadn't realised why I was there.. and that I wouldn't wait quite that long.... so I had to wait almost an hour to be called in for the ultra sound scan.. by which time dozens of patients had arrived with appts for between 1.30pm and 2.. for the path lab and radiology..

Anyway I won't get the results for a week, but the radiologist did tell me despite the fact that my hand is still swollen, and numb, there is NO evidence of glass still in it.. so thats a great relief......

I did the grocery shopping on the way back.. save me doing that again for a while...

Not too lively this Thursday morning after yesterday, Wednesday's late afternoon's outdoor live rock music. Was an ideal downtown upscale city street music venue for my purposes, with huge zone in front and sides of the stage to dance at with a large group doing so. Wide range of dancing styles from freestyle to Charleston like pairs all having great fun.

Just fully researched live music over this coming holiday period. There is a walk to where I live, outdoor street music event this late Thursday afternoon with a well experienced R&B/pop band that I won't be able to resist attending, though ought to. Otherwise, there is so much free strong rock/pop music going on every day, I am sure to be burned out by Sunday. Will resist doing anything Friday though could attend 2 events. Saturday have 3 strong choices. My main event is on Sunday afternoon where 5 well experienced Grateful Dead jam bands playing at a favorite club venue near the ocean with indoor and outdoor areas. I love free afternoon street music events in our cool, often foggy, coastal areas.

The following September weekend in San Francisco is the huge 3-day Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival so will have little time to relax.

Today's been a "take care of the little niggling jobs you keep putting off" day....

Cleaned the inside of the microwave, de-scaled the electric kettle, put Liquid Plumber down the bathroom sinks...

Also went to my local insurance agent to see if I could get my monthly rates reduced (they keep creeping up and up) on car and house insurance. If I jump through every hoop, I *could* save about $45.00 a month. Hoping for a better deal, stopped at another local insurer to get a quote... Uh, nyet, more expensive than what I've got now.

In digging through some paperwork, I found a folder with all of our Christmas "newsletters" over the years. Hoping to bring back happy memories, read a few but just came away kind of 'meh.' (Lots of background, no need to air --) I'll ask my kids if they want them.

Ate chicken salad and a banana outside.

Finished the first planter. The usual 3 pairs of sweaty shorts, underwear, and socks. 😓
But then... it is summer in Florida.

😂😂😂 We're the exact opposite here, @squattingdog! Just swap out "Florida" for "North Dakota" and "summer" for "winter."

My older daughter used to love the boy band 5 Seconds of Summer. I told her I'd never heard of a better description for this state.
