Good morning to everyone. It is foggy outside but the sun will be out and burn it off. One thing I do not like about being sunny is when the sun starts to go down in the afternoon, it is so hard to see with the glare. Even with sunglasses, it is hard to see.

It is warming up here with high's in the 80's and lows in the upper 50's. I am so happy, fingers crossed, that we did not have any hurricanes this year or tropical storms.

Have a good Sunday, everyone. :)

Its a grim ovecast, not raining but very damp outside after several days of heavy rain....

I had the physio office change my weekly appointment to Monday instead of a Friday because of the horrendous heavy traffic on a friday.. and me just getting my driving confidence back.... so they were very willing to change it for me.. but it means my next appt is not until a week tomorrow... which means for once I dont have any where I need to go this coming week.... if I want to stay home all next week I can ... and I just might (y)

You're just bluffing, you'll never stay at home for a week!

Renting an Airbnb, sounds like a good idea. I do like having my small family over this year, but at this stage in my life ( old stage) it takes a bit outta me. For a long time, no one came and it was the 2 of us, I would buy a Barbecued chicken and call it a day; or make a pizza.
Will you make a special dinner for yourself this year or going out somewhere?
I'm still not sure. Nothing is open here on Thanksgiving. I have a standing offer from several friends to join them and their families, but I did that once and probably won't again. I may make a special dinner; I like to cook and try new recipes. Or I may just do pizza!

The thing is I wanted to sleep but they were in every hour or two pestering me so I finally gave up. I got home and laid down and was out.
That was my issue as well. A few decades ago I used to volunteer at the local university hospital, bringing the book cart around with books and magazines for bored patients, if they wanted one. Some people were pretty annoyed at having yet another person knock and stick their head in the door, though, which I can completely understand.

we'll be here... just buy yourself something nice to eat .. find something you want to watch on TV.. ..and the forum will be here with us..... remember there's a whole world outside of the USA which doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving... (y)

Thanks, @hollydolly; that probably is what I'll do. I'm not worried about it. :)

My father always makes a big, annoying deal over holidays. As I've mentioned, I don't place a big priority on celebrating with family on the actual day. Last Christmas, my younger daughter and I celebrated together (dinner, gifts, and a Christmas movie) on December 23, and he was irritatingly sympathetic on the 25th. It was hard not to get snappy with him. I know he means well.

my daughter and I celebrate together a few days before Christmas.. .. we've done this for years now.. since both of our relationships broke up

She lives 2 hours away and she has dogs can't be left for too long... so I either go up to her, or we meet up in the middle either just the 2 of us or with some friends... deoending on what date is available for everyone..

This year we're meeting in the middle on the 23rd.. because I don't want to drive all the way to hers since the last collison in my car... it means she doesn't leave the dogs alone for more than 6 hours.. and it also means neither one of us is driving in the dark

I'm happy enough to be home alone on Christmas day as long as I've seen her beforehand... 🎄🎄

I did manage to catch a nap yesterday. Late afternoon, we went to DD's then headed to a nearby beach town. First stopped at a cute cafe for excellent banh mi sandwiches (mine with with tofu), then headed over to a nearby roller rink to watch women's flat track roller derby. What a hoot!!!

I'd seen roller derby on TV over the years, of course, but had no idea what the rules were (yes, there are rules!) or how points were scored. My 10 year old GD is a fan and explained the sport. Fairly simple rules, to be honest.

Anyway, a very fun evening. I'd be happy to go again.

Preschool GS (remember when he was baby grandson, then toddler grandson?) is coming over in a bit to spend the day. We'll make some cookie dough together, and I'll pull a little dough out of the freezer so we can bake a handful of a few different kinds of cookies today. ❤️ 🍪 🎄

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:45 temp was 34 with a slight breeze, wearing yellow reflector vest since it was still a bit dark out as I strolled around the building.I saw a couple runners a few were wearing blinking red lights on their vests
This morning at 9am taking Gates van to be dropped off at Kohl's dept store, looking for new turtlenecks.I may walk over to the small plaza next door to favorite $ store, need to buy birthday cards, probably take the bus home I have no other plans, hope to take afternoon walk. I'll be doing NYT crossword puzzle on line today since the paper won;t be delivered until tomorrow
Every one have a good day

It's a good morning for lounging around. The rain is expected to start sometime this afternoon. That might be a good time for me to restring the lights on my outdoor Christmas tree. I was going to do it yesterday afternoon, but someone was burning leaves and there was too much smoke. If it's raining later, I can work in the barn.

Time for me to take Goober for his walk.....

Good morning to everyone. 60 degrees and warming up to 80 this afternoon.

I will not be doing too much today. Amazon didn't deliver my order on Saturday, so it is suppose to come today. This has been happening more this month. They say a delay in one of their facilities and then if it still doesn't come so go back and get a refund. Anyway, I hope their service improves.

Have a good Monday, everyone. :)

Had a great day with preschool GS (PSGS???) yesterday. My plan to pull some cookie dough from the freezer to bake a few of this and that with him? Well, that collapsed when I realized the doughs were like bricks. Eek. He wanted bugatti (biscotti) so we made up the dough and put it in the oven, but it wasn't close to being done when his mom came to pick him up 1-1/2 hours earlier than usual. Sadness.

I'll try to swing by their house one day this week to drop some off.

The cookie dough-to-the-freezer project continues apace. Good thing, because the first pizza-cookie party is this Saturday! It'll be just DH & me, our 3 kids, their spouses and their kids. We did this last year and all had such a great time catching up and hanging out with each other that we agreed to make it an annual tradition.

It's 3pm.... it;s been sunny but not sunny or warm enough to dry up the lawns.... ... today has been the usual Monday influx of calls, texts and emails... like I'm back at work again. The same every Monday ..

It'll be dark an an hour or so.... the days just go so fast with these early dark nights

Have a super day everyone whose day is just starting... 🌺 🌺

We are going into Sydney today to purchase a new snow blower. Ours is broken and not worth fixing. It’s partially sunny so should be a nice drive.
That word is sNOw. Repeat after me: "sNOw." When we still lived up north, we named our sNOw blower. He was Brutus. Bought him used when he was five years old, and he lasted the entire 16 years we lived up there. Still going strong when we moved so he stayed with the house when we sold it.

I got a wild hair the other day and checked to see if our bone-in turkey breast would fit in DD's big crockpot. Yup! We also got a small boneless one. Checked to see if it would fit in my 3qt crockpot. Yup! That'll make cleanup easier for sure and free up the oven for other stuff.

DGD is gone to her first physical therapy appointment. She starts her new WFH job tomorrow.

Time to vacuum up kitty litter.
