How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

I sat up all night, didn't go to bed, and then couldn't because I had an appt with the dentist and didn't want to oversleep if I did go... Got myself showered, best clothes as you do ready to leave ... just about to do my hair and I thought I'd check my emails quickly... and I saw the dentist had cancelled my appointment.. literally at the 11th hour.. if I hadn't checked the emails, I would have been none the wiser and would have gone...

No reason given for the cancellation, so I'll be calling them this afternoon to make a new appointment...

On the up side.. I changed Utility suppliers... to the one my Daughter has and we both got £50 as a bonus gift for the recomendation... (y)

Morning folks....slept rather fitfully last nite, some pains, some
rash issues, and just mental stuff, kept getting woke up for
whatever reason, oh well,,, didn't arise till 6 am tho, to sunny
morning, hopefully no rain today, unsure of the plans tho, still
trying to find the soc sec card, if not blah....take care all...;):coffee:
Did you look between seat cushions for your card hawk?

Had TeleHealth with my therapist for 38 minutes. I really got told off about my entitled attitude to life. She made a lot of sense. I have a lot to think about.

TeleHealth was no longer working on my phone, as my storage is full and I don't know how to unfill it. My son bought me a webcam for my computer. Since the screen is big, it was an experience like actually being together.
I never sensed you having an entitled attitude, Pepper.

Good morning to all. Rain this morning here so cannot go out if it is too heavy.

@hollydolly, good news about the weather being cooler with the rain. Try to get some sleep today since the dentist visit is cancelled. It does seem the dentist office could have contacted you earlier about the cancellation.

I hope all of you can have a better day today. :)

morning all, on my early walk at 6:50 temp was 66 as I strolled around the building 2 times before breakfast
This morning will be taking Gates van to be dropped off at my dr's office for my annual ck up I see his wonderful nurse practioner,Diane who I like a lot, ask if she or he will sign a medical waiver so I can join our weekly Fri exercise class. When I first moved here, I wasn't really interested but I am now.. I tried doing it on my own with resistance bands, 2 lb weights, gave up. I'll still continue to do my daily walks
The rest of my day, take an afternoon walk, read NYT

Today my son/grandson will be picking me up sometime late morning. We will be going to see the newest Jurassic World movie. We are looking forward to that and to eating popcorn. Love movie popcorn.

My only job is to be happy. I have been repeating this all morning. My only job is to be happy. My only job is to be happy.

Super busy day yesterday.....

The morning was spent with Dio, first at the dentist then at the gym.

After that, he dropped me off at the eye doctor where I met up with my Mom, for her appointment. Her eye appointment took 2 hours, and didn't go as well as we had hoped.

The rest of my day was spent running errands with Mom, and getting things done around her house.

I came home tired and hungry, but I wasn't done, yet.....

After I grabbed a quick bite to eat, I washed dishes. It was almost 7 pm, and I hadn't done any of my outside chores yet. So I headed out, fed

, then took care of The Girls and did all of the other things that needed doing.

It was starting to get dark when I finally finished, and I was ready for a shower and and bed! 😴💤💤💤

Today will be easier. It's a catch up day for things around here....but still busy!

More good news this morning.. I stopped my Car insurance provider from auto renewing my Insurance every year, which meant it gave me the chance to search for cheaper Insurance. Now I have fully comp insurance...always have had, and they have a load of extras too, for example, included in my insurance is the renewal of all locks in my house and car should I lose my keys ... , and I changed to this company several years ago because their quote was so much lower than Direct line who I'd been with both here in the UK and overseas in Spain...for many years..

However last year the premiums went up..not by much .. about £20... so I decided to look for cheaper Insurance and found it ... £30 cheaper, for the same cover..

I called my current Insurance company because my renewal date is imminent.. and asked them for this years' price... and guess what.... before I even told them that I had a better offer from another company.. they reduced my premiums by £70.... .. astonishing... but I'm absolutely delighted... .

I'm glad I stopped the auto renewal, because I somehow doubt it would have been less....

Good morning, boys and girls.

Look at you, @hollydolly! Saving money left and right. Heck, you might even have a few extra bucks to use more heat next winter.

We were supposed to have horrid thunderstorms last night. Nope. Maybe somebody else in the area did, but not us. Now we're being told that it'll be dry and a dry holiday weekend. That means I have to water, but that's better than more torrential rain.

The "boys" drove straight through and got home last night, a bit more than 1000 miles. Long time to be sitting on your butt! They're coming over for lunch today anyway since they don't have to turn the rental car in until tomorrow.

Sliders and pasta salad prepped, still need to tidy up around here.

Y'all have a good day and stay cool/dry.

Matrix has just posted that 3 out of 7 newbies who have just joined were scammers, and he had to get rid of them..and he;s asking people not to privately message newbies until they have at least 200 posts under teir belt. Very sensible..

Please be aware of online scammers

However I want to know.. because I'm extremely nosey..lol... who if any of you privately PM's newbies?... pease say none of you do it... but Some people are definitely doing it, and Matrix wants it to stop...
Thanks for bringing this thread to our attention. I'm wary of new members and newly active members who spill way too much information or neediness.

I rarely PM, and only do so with SFers I've known for a very long time.

Appreciate the warning and recommend others click on the link HD provided. Some "good to know" info there.

Hold onto your hats— I just had a pleasant experience in Walmart !

Hunting which aisle had the ‘drying mats’ for dishes… older gentleman was also looking at display. When he saw me behind him, he said “oh, excuse me” and moved his cart over. I said, “it’s fine, I don’t know if I’m even in the right aisle”. He smiled and quipped, “I know what you mean… I was 18 years old when I came in for this shopping trip”. I busted out laughing. We wished each other a good day.

Kindness can be in the most unexpected places 😉

Just got out of the pool... and still pondering breakfast.
Lovely, cool morning with a pleasant day expected, but hot weather is a-coming.

DH & I had expected to RV for a week in San Diego but postponed because we're not confident the truck that pulls our RV is 100% ready for a 300 mile round trip. We're putting the truck back in the shop next week for a full inspection and tune-up.

It's plenty dramatic, and not in a good way, when your truck pulling a 5th wheel gets in trouble. 51 feet long from bumper to bumper. It's double the drama if it happens on a freeway, but with one small blessing — long haul truckers figure out pretty quickly that you're in trouble and give you plenty of room. The last time, a kind trucker pulled behind us and blocked for us lane by lane so we could get to the shoulder and out of traffic lanes.

Very few automobile drivers are as courteous to a truck or RV that's in trouble. They think, "I don't want to be behind this guy who's driving 30 mph with his flashers on and his wife is half hanging out the passenger window gesturing wildly to be let in my lane." They don't think, "Uh oh, this guy's in trouble, let me give him some room to get over."

Since we'd expected to be out of town, there's almost nothing on our schedules. No appointments and very little business work. Lazy week!

Today is a good day! I hope I'm on an upswing for the next week or so.... to enjoy 4th of July and my b-day.

This past year I've been on a bit of a roller coaster, feel pretty good for awhile and then bleh! for awhile.

Wish you all a great day!! 🌷

My 6 y/o grandson has the uncanning ability to turn our house upside down. My drawers are his treasure chests.
When we watched funny animal videos on YouTube, he screamed so loud that I had to take off my hearing aids.

My rocking chair becomes a new toy...................................his paintings need interpretation

The friendship is being renewed; at half his present age, my grandson was riding on top of my 96 pound Ross.

Left: SoCal Edison replaced our wooden telephone pole with a fiberglass one; the foreman told me a $10K cost.
Right: The boss of the tree cutting crew had hired a guy who was not very bright. Well, not my job to pull it out.

I 70 west of St. Louis is a death trap. I 64 east is a death trap. Most every bridge is a death trap. Lots of exit entrance ramps are death traps. Most County roads have bad bridges due to overloaded grain hauling 18 wheelers. Need knowing that, what cha want to do? ... :coffee: ...

Well. A productive day. My "boys" came for lunch.

After they left, I thought I'd tackle two of what I thought were minor plumbing problems, one under the kitchen sink and one in the shower.

There's an overflow pipe under the kitchen sink, and every time I turned on the water, it immediately filled up and poured into a little tub that fortunately I keep under the sink to hold various and sundry cleaning supplies. Hm.

I enlisted the help of DSIL because, yanno, it's his day off and what can be better on a day off than fiddling around with drains? LOL

He has a snake thingie and got it out to clear the problem in both drains, cleared them both, discovered another leak in an elbow under the kitchen sink and dug out the plumber's tape and fixed that. We didn't know what was clogging the kitchen sink but he could feel something waaaaay far away and dislodged it.

When he used the snake in the shower drain, discovered that there was a small (and dead, thank heaven) piece of a tree root leftover from a problem about 10 years ago. Seems the kitchen sink drain and the shower drain share a pipe, and that was what the problem was in the kitchen. When he pulled back the snake in the shower the little tree root came out with it. Who knew? You'd think that after 10 years "Once in every week, Drano in every drain" would have eaten it away. It was kinda gross after being down there all that time.

So both problems solved. Yay. Imagine what calling a plumber would have cost...$$$$$. Nice to have a handy man around the house!

Time for jammies and gelato.

My 6 y/o grandson begged me to play with him. OK, we went camping under a blanket with a flashlight in my room.
In the meantime, my son-in-law is getting their travel trailer ready for camping over the 4th of July in San Diego.

A wild party: my grandson is hiding under his red shirt, I, and my three pups. At close to 90, I am now exhausted.

Left: My grandson has his own Beagle puppy but never gets tired of playing wildly with my pups.
Right: My daughter's family bought a Toyota Roadrunner today. I objected because of the price and only making
20 m/g but grudgingly chipped in. I am driving a Toyota Corolla at 1/3rd of the price and am perfectly happy with it.

After being an English teacher in China since 2012, my older daughter is permanently coming home next week
to pursue advanced university studies.
