The tiny entrance to the olde worlde shopping village.. the shop on the right sells womens' clothing etc, it had a ''back in 5 mins'' sign on it when I went in and when I left 30 mins later the sign was still there.. shame because they had some pretty things there..

Those look like fun little shops. I'd have left loaded down and dead broke;)

Lawn mowed. It's very dry here so I didn't have to wait for the dew to evaporate...there wasn't any dew. There's a window of opportunity in the morning before the sun hits the lawn, and I was able to mow before the heat cranks up more. Otherwise, I'd have had to wait until around 5-5:30 when it's much hotter. So far it's only 89F.

I did something very very stupid yesterday. Usually I just do stupid. I have been so depressed lately I bought a pack of cigarettes in the hope my depression would be helped. It didn't. Only gave me a headache. Threw them out. Wasted $13.
Aww, @pepper… warm hugs and joy to you. Wish I could share a glass of lemonade and laughter with you.

Here’s a pic of my cat.. he do get into some strange positions haha

Grrrrrrr.....I'm so used to companies ignoring the holidays, I thought the pharmacy would be open. So I had my oil change scheduled, food ordered and I arrived at the pharmacy to find it closed.....

Well, I'll be back, not like I'll die without my pills. Bummer was, they couldn't get three items, sweetener and eggs.....I was so planning on hamburger and eggs omlette

Update: We CAN still order both a Medicare card (medicare.gov) and a social security card (ssa.gov) online.
My medicare card is on the way to me as is the social security card… just yesterday received confirmation on the SS card:
“Thank you for requesting a replacement of your Social Security card on June 26, 2025.
Your request has been approved. You should receive your replacement Social Security card at the mailing address you provided in 5 to 7 business days.”

Simplicity rules!

Happy 4th to all,, hope you have a great day.

Was going to weed whack, but couldn't get the weed whacker started.

Tackled the closet that we keep jackets in,, all seasons of them.
Showed hubby how I put them in 'order'.
Facing closet on right all hunting jackets,, then heavy Winter coats,, work ones, down to light jackets.
Took out a pile fairly new Zipper knit jackets,,plan on washing & donating them.

Ground some left over ham into sandwich spread, sweet Gerkins , cheese, salad dressing.

I got all the washing done during the free period of Electricity we were given today..... didn't need much doing because I just did it a few days ago, but I felt as the elec was free wash the towels, and what I was wearing etc.. I put the stuff out on the washing line at 3.30..and 4-45 it was all bone dry, including jeans and the bath towels, that's how hot and windy it's been today...

The forecast is for rain, tomorrow.. so I've covered up the galss garden tabels, beause they're black glass and the rain makes a mess of them

I also charged up everything that I could find...they will last for another week that way without needing charged . Every little thing helps to keep the electricity costs down.

Happy Holiday from all of us, to all of you, from our morning walk (I am dog sitting my grandson's Beagle.)
Daily morning and evening walks are essential to keep me going and healthy. I still enjoy life at close to 90 y/o.

Left: My older daughter is about the vacate her long-time apartment on the 22nd floor in Zhuhai, near Hong Kong,
to come back home permanently next week (I took this picture the last time I visited her; my wife went more often.)
Right: As usual, my wife is gone window? shopping, even today. At least with my iPhone I can trace her whereabouts.

Well, my younger daughter's family is camping at San Diego's Mission Bay. My grandson is obviously quite busy.
Located next to Sea World, I bet more fun is waiting for him. (Pictures copied from iPhone.)

Well it's 10.30pm and I just had some dinner. I had 1/2 a baked potato with egg mayo, and some thinly sliced Brie....

Should never eat this late because I get nightmares if I got to bed within an hour or 2 of eating...

I've been trying to find out more about the crash.. one report says a van has been totally burnt out following the crash but I can't read it because its behing a paywall that they want me to subcribe to paying a years' cost to view..

I am so tired of news website charging for every little thing....

A couple more pics of Inside Wrest house... It took me by surprise .. because I've never been to a stately home that you have to pay to view £14.50 ( altho' I didn't have to pay, but other people do)... that the house is empty.... except for the library....

There;s no access to any rooms except the library and the main entrance hallway, and then the stairs.. but all the rooms at the top of the stairs are blocked off to the public..with ''staff only signs"....so in truth I would have been extremely miffed if I'd paid to view an empty house....

The Library which is the first room through the main door..

then the hallway & stairs...

HollyDolly have a question is this house owned by the National Trust? Sue

I made burgers baked in the oven (added garlic powder, dried onion, steak sauce and Worcestershire sauce to the meat before cooking). Also had canned baked beans, coleslaw and cranberry ambrosia for my holiday meal. I watched the movie "1776" this morning. It's actually pretty good if one can overlook the silliness of America's founding fathers singing and dancing about everything.

I found some old firecrackers and tested a few. For something less the 2 inches long, they sure had a much louder bang that I wasn't expecting!
