How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

62 degrees right now and sunny today here in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Today, my wife has bloodwork at 11 am and I see a new eye doctor, VA, at 2 pm. We will work lunch in there somewhere. Getting to know my way around somewhat but still rely on Google maps.

LOL, Ahhhh, Poughkeepsie, NY... spent a day handcuffed to the wall at the state police barracks there. Long story. :)

I spent the day driving around, with my maps app telling me where to go.
1. I drove my step-grandson to college. We drove by my son's workplace on the way.
2. I took my son to work.
3. I picked up my step-grandson from college.
4. I picked up my son at a place called Euro Market near his work.

After each of these trips, I returned home. So with 8 trips that were essentially the same, I know those routes now.

Today I had scheduled a new bathroom install. Just the new shower with the old tub taken out...in 2 weeks the new vanity will be installed. My girl is coming tomorrow to open boxes and hang the shower curtain which I cannot reach. New towels go up, new art, and new holders for hairbrushes, etc on the vanity. New rug also by the shower.

The guys did a wonderful job and the room looks so much better and I will be safer.
After they let I cleaned all the surfaces in there so it is clean and usable. Not much dust at all.

I had to keep boiling water so I could hand wash and rinse dishes today. We are under a boil water advisory and although my little dishwasher gets hot during the final cycle, I don't know if it's hot enough, long enough to sanitize the dishes under these circumstances.

I talked with the neighbors (spouses) who have my key about who they can give that key to in case certain loved ones want to do a welfare check. This would only be necessary when my son is away or once he moves out and they can't get in touch with me within a reasonable time period. I also had to let them know that the portable battery charger I ordered for them has been recalled. I wrote down the information they need to find out more about it and submit a refund request.

After that HS#3 surprised me and said let's take a ride. We went to one of the parks and did our walk. He's determined to try to get me to exercise more and be healthier.

excellent news... I know you were concerned about this.. well done.. , freedom for you once again...(y)

It's a glorious morning... very hot during the night.. high 80's in my bedroom.. no AC.. but I did have a fan on all night so that kept it bearable.

Today the high is expected to be around the mid 80's outside... 🌞🌞

I won't be able to go anywhere because of my jaunt yesterday..

I have an appointment on Thursday so I'm thinking that's probably the earliest I'll be able to feel able to go anywhere..

Fortunately I have a garden.. where I can sit out and read... I often think of the people who live in flats, and apartments.. on hot days who have no gardens...

Have a great day Peeps... hope evrything goes your way today... (y)

We had a nine o'clock veiwing this morning, I had almost forgotten that there are two seven o'clocks in the day, the time the alarm went off. But Holly is right, such a glorious day, get out there and enjoy it. We did have a silly moment earlier. Last night I was cough, cough, cough. Not a cold just something causing a tickle in my throat. After about the tenth "tut" from the other side of the bed, I got up and went into one of the other bedrooms. Strangely enough the cough shut up.
That silly moment, I had gotten up, heard my lady moving about, made her morning tea and took it into the bedroom. She was in the en-suite under the shower. I undressed and joined her, tickling her and blowing on her neck. We were more like silly teenagers, but we couldn't hang around, imagine if our visitors saw us! So we dried one another, dressed and off out.

Morning all, on my early morning walk, at 6:50 I went down the end of street to local co op{am a member} needed some milk. The temp was 75 with not much wind, notice a couple houses had their lawn sprinklers on since we haven;t had much rain in the past couple of weeks.
Yesterday I left a note with Alex our events co ordinator, told her I wasn't going to do the walking group today because I have a cold{ a bit congested,}its going to be too hot/ humid by 10am
The rest of my day rest, do some laundry, read NYT, do take out for both lunch & dinner

Uncomfortably warm overnight and another warm day today - about 25C. Went shopping and survived in spite of my left ankle still bring sore.
By using a shopping trolley for support, things went fine, but getting in and out of the car was awkward.
Not sure how to spend this afternoon. I can't do much and anyway it's a bit too warm.

Making lasagne for dinner.

Hubby came in to tell me a bird was flying around in his bathroom.
It was sitting on the window sill panting, scared to death.
I got a towel and scooped it up gently.
Brought it outside and it just sat in my hand looking at me panting.
It finally took off and landed on the fence rail.
A touch with nature so early in the morning...love it!

It was one of these

I have excellent news for a change. I DO NOT HAVE PARKINSONS. I have what I was diagnosed with six years ago, what @Elsie has, "benign" essential tremor. I cannot take any of the medications for it, however, as it would interfere with one of my blood thinners, so not an option. My neighbor told me her sister gets Botox for it, and it helps her tremendously, but I don't feel that is an option for me either.

We talked about the role of stress with this condition. They don't mix.

The important thing is I don't have Parkinson's. The doctor who diagnosed that? Well, I was a mess in his office that day, uncontrollable shaking. Thank goodness I couldn't tolerate the meds he put me on, so didn't take it. Outrageous.

Enough about me.

Great news!

Mum's funeral was yesterday. Went as well as it could. Meal out for the family yesterday aftenoon. Ate hardly anything. Came home dog tired and went bed at 8pm! Slept right through for 12 hours! Tai chi class this morning. I feel like the clouds are finally starting to clear! Onwards and upwards!

You need a rest. Your tai chi class should feel good too. 🤗

I guessed this..I'm sure I mentioned this to you before..because I have benign essential tremor altho' now it's in remission since the break up of my marriage.. and I feel that the stress of that what was causing it ... poor Elsie has had it since childhood, and suffers very badly with it even now...

..but your symptoms were exactly what I was getting so I felt sure it was BET.... well thank God for that... it's not life threaetning in any way.....you've just got to keep your stress levels down.... , and now you know that if you create a stressful situation...then you're going to suffer with the BET.. and it can go on for a very long time... so Excellent news all round... All of us who have lost our mums, know exactly what you're going through. and particularly those of us who had little or no notice of our mums deaths.. so no real time to process what was happening...

Your grieving started when mum was diagnosed, and than in a Coma in hospital... then you're heart broke the day you heard she'd passed... it can't break any more... it can only start to heal now... and it will... slowly but surely...

R.I.P Dave's Mum.... 🤗
