Morning all, a loud clap of thunder woke me up around 4:15, was able to go back to sleep
When I opened my living room blinds around 6:15, it was nice to see it was lightly raining,haven;t had much of that this summer.At 6:50 temp was 70 I wore my rain coat as walked around the building once before breakfast,forecast calls for rain on/off today which will be a great change from the heat/humidity we've have of late
I have no plans today do some paper work,hope to take mid morning&afternoon walk depending on the weather,read NYT,my book
 

Good morning to everyone. I overslept this morning and now have to do some catch up on the chores.

I have been watching Tropical Storm Erin in the Atlantic, which will be a Hurricane but right now it might be moving away from the US Eastern Coast. So, fingers crossed.

Nice weather today as yesterday in the forecast.

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoy today. :)
 
Gonna be a fun day...ENT doc this morning at 10:00, for a routine check of my ear drain tube, and then my second of three knee injections at 1:40 this afternoon.

Had a ultra sound of my legs yesterday morning to be sure that I had enough blood flow in my legs and to my feet....gal said all looked well.

Being diabetic I have my once every six months thorough eye exam with my ophthalmologist tomorrow morning at 10:30.

Still have a chemical / pharmacologic stress test to do and am waiting on a call for the appointment date.

I swear if it weren't for medical stuff my life would be pretty darn boring. :)
 
I just ordered a big grocery shopping order online ..... to be delivered tomorrow...

I'm not too keen on online shopping because I like to see the dates and quality for myself... but I really have little option at the moment... so I'm thankful it's available..

The good thing about this particular online grocery website is it's not connected to just one Supermarket.... so I can order both from M&S and other stores on the same website...and they will all be delivered together

Well maybe you have a good one, but with most grocery deliveries it's hit or miss if they "follow the instructions."

yes I have the opportunity to tick all those things as well... on all the other supermarket websites but not this one which sends us groceries from several different stores
 
My day started with allowing my step-grandson to drive to his college with me supervising. He did very well, yet he is still nervous about driving. And I did not have heart failure and my hands didn't shake during the 45 minute drive.

I absolutely hate being in the passenger seat with a student driver (or bad driver) at the wheel. But this guy is one of my beloved favorite people, and he deserved for me to but my anxieties aside.

Note: The story is that my stepdaughters from my first marriage are still very close to me. I have known them since they were 5 and 6. Now I live with one of them, and her two children have considered me to be their 3rd grandmother for years. But all this step business drives me nuts. For my stepdaughter, it is easy. She introduces me as her stepmother and I do the same with the stepdaughter bit. Meanwhile, she, her mother, stepfather, actual father, sister, and I consider us to all be family.

I have no desire to be an actual grandmother, but if it happens, it will be fine. I love children because they are fun. However, I don't want to become a nanny-granny, so I won't.

Yesterday it was forecast to point toward Europe, today the Jet stream may have changed, thinking north like Nova Scotia. ???
Thes big busters have a way of changing things and Falls fast approaching too.
 
My friend was telling me today that Costco have got all their Christmas stuff out for sale.. and lighted Chritmas lights ..like Christmas street lamps inside the store......crazy....

It's fine if people want to buy gifts ahead of time, but all the Christmas stock takes up the space where non Christmas stuff should be out ..it;s not even halloween yet... Summer is only half way through

Everyone I know says time goes very fast now.. and I think half the time these stores are to blame.. we never get over one holiday before their advertising the next one months ahead... so we never get a break from it...

How nice that you got to spend time with your mom. I hope you were able to get to Walmart (well, if you enjoy shopping like I do). I'm also glad to read your eye exam went so well.
 
7:21pm Wednesday now on August 13, 2025. It has been 2 weeks since I came out of a 6-day Sierra Nevada backpacking trip that has taken up quite a lot of my time post processing images then hand coding a page for such in html for my website. This afternoon, finally completed the first full pass of the completed full webpage and will allow that to sit for a few days in order to review the text a few times. Then in a few days will upload it to my site.

So that done, I reviewed rock music entertainment listings for this SFBA that are rather extensive. It appears I am going to be able to attend free late afternoon free outdoor concerts with Classic Rock/Pop covers each of the next 4 days.

So yeah again, 2 much fun for an old guy.
 
My Honorary Daughter came over this morning for our business meeting. She's the alternate executor on my will, also alternate person on my living will. I decided it best to tell her about all things relating to my estate and burial, as well as show her where everything is located before she has to go back to work in September. I straightened up and did some light cleaning before she got here.

After eating lunch I took a nice nap. I'm trying the best I can to keep up with hand washing the dishes, but I hate it so much! We are still under the boil water alert even though the broken water main pipe has been repaired. Now the water for ours and surrounding cities must be tested before we get the all clear. I only boil water in a 1.5 quart pan because it's easier for me to manage, especially with Deja under foot. So it is a process.

Last night was super warm in bed despite having 2 fans running.... I get hardly any sleep as it is due to my right arm injury coupled with the tendonitis which causes agonising pain every time I move... so doubtless I'll be asleep again later sitting upright on the sofa..

Grocery delivery today... that should be here soon...

... I have an appt tomorrow in town , but I'm debating whether to cancel until next week..

Have a super day folks whatever the challenges...

spite of the brain lice, that is the crap thaat goes on in my head
all nite, voices, singing, arguing....what a mess that is...anyhow
feel good physicaly, mental is so=so today...got some laundry
to work on...having plumber back in, toilet not working right..

The grocery delivery has been and it's all put away. I refused the substitutions.. and that was taken from my bill



I've been out in the garden, and there's a neighbourhood cat that has been recently chitting in my garden... it's been happening now for a week.. and it's driving me mad... I know what cat it is.. and I 've already sprayed it with water a few days ago when it's come onto the garden.. but it's so annoying I have to clear someone's else pets filth up.... if dogs wnadered ito people gardens and shat all over the place..there would be ructions...

I see Tropical Erin is moving away from the US but the weather girl said it could move closer to the coast with higher rip currents and could be dangerous to go out in the ocean swimming or surfing, so one must watch for this happening. It will become a hurricane today, according to her forecast.

A small chance of showers today but mostly sunny.

I remembered today is Thursday, meaning I can join my Reiki Healing & Meditation group. I really need it. Rejoined last Thursday after being away from it for years. Came along now, when I need it so badly. After last Thursday when everyone around me, including me, started to lose it. It will be at 10:30 on Zoom. Glad I remembered. Need so much, want to, need to, release this turmoil boiling within.

My friend, Mary is picking me up at 9:30, this week's 'road trip' to Target,bank and our favorite $ store
The rest of my day,hope to take afternoon stroll,read NYT. I've been doing takeout for my lunch & dinners this week due to my summer cold, I'm 95% better, don't feel comfortable sitting in the dining room quite yet. I told Connie I wouldn't; be joining her& the guys tonight for our usual get together dinner
Last night I started watching the Little League Championship games on ESPN from Williamsport, PA,I always enjoy watching these talented young kids ages 11-13,I saw some of the regional games last week
