By punnets do you mean baskets? We once had a talk radio guy in Atlanta named Ian Punnet. He said punnet meant strawberry basket.
yes traditonally the strawberries are in Cardboard or wicker punnets.... but more often now it's plastic punnets....

i had an eye exam today and found some new affordable glasses. so i'm happy with that. will take at least a week to get them.
usually takes 2 weeks here.. from ordering and paying.. ..I've started buying mine online now..much cheaper, quality just as good and they take about the same time to arrive

I'm glad you enjoyed the play Doug. I would have loved to see that. It's nice to support local theater groups and local talent in general. We used to have a theater group consisting of teenagers, decades ago and they were fantastic. I know the "Sistahs" looked fabulous in their outfits. :D
We see plays with a mixed straight/gay cast called Uptown Players at this little theater, then I saw an ad for Urban Players performing The Color Purple and said "Why not?" It was fantastic, and yes, the "Sistahs" were steppin' out!

it's just after noon here.. different day to yesterday, very overcast.. but still around 75 deg....

Going to watch a live court case on Youtube today... I've been following the case for years now... and finally the ''godmother'' is on trial .. after years of evading the law..

Nothing else planned for today...

have a super day, peeps of SF>... 🌼 🌼

Good morning, everyone. A nice day today with the weather. Somehow the weather isn't too bad for this time of year. However, hurricanes are still a worry as most form near us around Labor Day. Well, I will just hope for the best.

Take care of yourselves today, everyone and have a good one.:)

Morning all folks!!! It is only 50F yes fifty degrees outside!!
Wow hope it stays this way a couple days anyway...saves on
electric bill....I slept pretty good last eve, 9 to almost 6 am....
I needed it, as the old body was very painful....so far so good
today tho....still didn't get all the laundry done, and pile of
dishes to do....groceries got delivered tho, and the lawn guy

take care of each other !!! :):love::coffee:

Morning all, on my early walk at 6:45,temp was 58 as I went around the building twice before breakfast
Yesterday I talked with Alex about my resigning from walking club,we decided to revamp it starting 2nd Tues in Sept She'll lead residents who physically can't walk far around the building once/week
The residents who are physically able, want to walk farther have to sign up ahead of time.I'll lead that group
She did say if someone in the group falls, I call the front desk, some one will come& get the person I feel better about this change
For dinner tonight at 5:30,I've invited 2 church friends Kate&Bruce{they've been here for lunch} their wedding anniv was yesterday a great way to celebrate, along with neighbor, Bill, look forward to it
The rest of my day read NYT,my book try to take mid morn or afternoon walk. After dinner tackle the NYT crossword puzzle and watch tennis on ESPN

Another busy work day here for me, but the weather is still gorgeous—70s and sunny—so I'll have to be sure to get out for a walk.

Funny thing: I took a walk last evening and my allergies were fine. I woke up this morning after sleeping all night indoors, of course, and they'd kicked in with a vengeance. 🤧

Feeling perky and peppy this morning. Silently hoping son calls and asks
if I want to go with him to see the progress on his house being built. Seen the outside
not inside yet, excited for him. Otherwise just some outside stuff to tidy up. And a game of soccer
with Oscar, he loves playing.
Hope all your day is good to each of you!

This is a bread baking day for me, one batch of raisin bread (4 loaves) and two batches of Ezekiel bread (5 loaves each). That completes my bread quota for next Saturday's market. I already have twenty four loaves in the freezer.
Yesterday afternoon I put in two enjoyable hours at the local Middle School community garden pulling weeds with another volunteer. On Mondays about fifty or so people, mostly quite young, some of their parents and a handful of elders like me gather and do whatever the place needs needs to be done.
Tomorrow I make cookie dough and then refrigerate it for baking on Thursday. Then at 5;00 PM I meet half a dozen other Master Gardener volunteers at a municipal park to........I dunno this time.....prune trees, pull weeds, pick up debris, enjoy each others company....it's a Wednesday regular thing.

My day is great! I am leaving soon to take care of my nephew's two Presa Canarios and three cats. The dogs get so excited when I get there. All the animals except the feral cat sleep with me in the king-sized bed in the guest room. We will have lots of fun!

The dogs are 90 (female) and 130 (male) lbs. They are very playful, but gentle around me. They do not knock me down or anything. I will be surrounded by all these animals for the next 6 days, and that is my idea of a good time.

My nephew is thinking of getting a puppy. I can't remember the breed, but it weighs about 200 lbs. when fully grown. My nephew is a body builder type -- people stare at him when we are out in public because his muscles are so huge. I think he gets dogs that are a lot like him. Muscular and protective.

And now that my daughter has been in France for 4 full days, I am going to stop living on French time. Neither of us are very good about remembering the time difference. She seems to be settling in fine. The landlord is sending a crew to thoroughly clean the apartment of cat hair. My daughter already cleaned it otherwise. She sent me a text: Mom, I just discovered the baseboards are white. Ugh. Grime.

Okay, the laundry is all done, and dishes are washed....now what!?
WOW, my pc just took a dump!!!!! dunno what happend but
with my shaky hand who can tell, ended up monitor went off
and came back with the BSOD !!!Guess I'll see what happens
now!!!!
Oh no! I assume BSOD is Blue Screen of Death? That happened to me about 6 years ago and I wasn't able to salvage it.

Good luck @hawkdon!

Both of us woke up with odd feelings in our bodies.

I thought it was my blood sugar being so low ,, 65.
Does anyone skip your main Blood sugar pill when its low?

Weather was cool enough that Hubby could work outside without too many breaks.

I made a large batch of potato soup,, adding lots chopped ham to it.
Enough for tomorrow or if we want something else,, will need to think about it.

Has anyone used Aspen Dental for dentures?
Recently broke my partial.

Hope everyone had a nice day.

Our Aspen here doesn't seem to be too good but that may not mean all are the same.
Look over reviews for your area.

Well today I was in the public gallery of court ... fascinating case, watching from the best seat in the house.... more of it tomorrow..

In the lunch break, I got the laundry on , and got that washed and dried throughout the day...

Put a colour in my hair today... just a little semi permanent lightener... ... and then this evening.. I made Rump steak with blue cheese for dinner...

Thursday I've got an appt at the hospital for another ultrasound scan on my hand and arm.... and just noticed I have an appt with the physio tomorrow.. I'm going to call them and cancel because my arm & hand are still not healed so they're not ready for physio, also we'll need to see what the results of the uS scan is before any physio...
