Anotrher Tai Chi class this morning down the road about 25min. And I'm having a private 1-2-1 with my teacher tomorrow - always good - always nervous LOL.

Good news today from the Honda garage. My car is ready - and I can pick it up tomorrow afternoon and it will 'Look great'. Or I can let their detailer have it for a day and it will look brand new - no extra charge. I'm away down in Kidderminster Friday/Saturday so it's a no brainer. Booked in to pick it up Monday morning! Insurance is in place and only cost me an extra £20 til the end of my policy in March next year! I expected more as it's a higher spec model, three years younger and half the mileage!

I did that when I bought my new to me car at the very end of July.. I let them detail it for a day or 2 , so it looked and still looks 2 months later like a brand new car... but it's 3 years old...
 
I started taking a drawing art class yesterday. It was a lot of fun but I didn't realize how exhausting it could be to focus on a task for over an hour. Also, drawing a bunch of bananas is tricky.

This morning I got a reminder I'd set up 6 months ago that I needed to go get fasting blood work done this morning. Ugh, I really struggled with myself (after first going back to sleep to deal with it later), I wanted so much to just have my coffee and breakfast, but I didn't want it hanging over me tomorrow either, so I managed to force myself to go.

But now I'm feeling sorry for myself (tho I guess I have no real suffering in my life that a simple fasting blood work is enough to disrupt my whole day). Pity party for me ::sniffle:::
 
The slow and painful process of saying farewell.

My ten-year old Ross (second from the left) has a tumor in his mouth that keeps growing and makes it difficult to eat anything. Six months ago, he had a $1K surgery that didn't do any good. Now www.vdspets.com wants $6K for another surgery without guarantee of success. Sorry, I can't do it. Anyway, Ross has pretty much reached his life expectancy. www.rcdas.org/pet-services/humane-euthanasia will euthanize him on 10/9/2025.

Otto (on the far right) has a thyroid cancer, and my veterinarian recommends to put him to sleep. Well, I just want to keep him a little bit longer.

Rex and Heidi are my buddies who will stay with me for a long time to come. They enable me to survive and to keep going.

Dearest @Jules Why are you angry when two of my pups have to be euthanized to end their suffering?

I was out getting the bbq ready when I hear a bugle from very close. Grab my calls and phone and slipped through my yard to the street. This 7x6 was out pushing his cows around as they fed on the neighbors lawn. This is the "trophy" class animal I was hunting this past month. This is the 3rd year he has been the boss bull in our neighborhood.

Here he is in November 2024 after building a herd of 150 cows. I was ecstatic to see he survived the winter and added a small point to one side. If you look closely at his side it's obvious that he's completely emaciated. Hopefully he survives winter again.

Just happened to glance at the calendar and I noticed that Daylight Saving starts this Sunday, 5th October. Oh no!! I've never liked it and many others can't stand it. It's okay for those that live near the beaches but living inland, as I do, it can get
incredibly uncomfortable in the searing heat and humidity in the western suburbs. I get up early about 5am and putting the clocks forward it will be 4am. It's going to be a very long day for me.
 
I decided to re-pack my food items in a bulk Ritz box that fits inside a cloth grocery bag with long handles. It will be easier for my son to carry when he takes my stuff to the timeshare. I put my larger suitcase and other items back in the storage closet. I found another spot for a metal file box I had in there. Just taking that one item out and rearranging a bit makes everything more easily accessible, better organized and gives the illusion of more available space.

I also continued our accounting. which included updating our financial spreadsheets. I keep track of what my son owes me for his charges and household expenses, plus what I owe him in cashback rewards. I also updated my dividend-capital gains spreadsheet. I have one more part to do and that's my quarterly investments tally. Call me crazy, but working on that financial stuff relaxes me.

@Pepper I'm glad you're getting to spend time with your grandson. And taking one day at a time seems like a good idea. Still wishing your health will improve, not deteriorate! 🤗

@oscash I'm glad you mentioned when DST will be. I'm going away that day and if I didn't pay attention to the time change, that would have really screwed up getting to the bus at the proper time. I have to remind Honorary Son #3 as well because he'll be dropping me off there.

DIVA: I live in Sydney Australia and we switch to Daylight Saving (Summer Time) and seeing you live in New Jersey you might
not have started to change into Winter Time.

Oscash...I forgot we live in two different zones. Thank you for pointing that out. You are right, our Daylight Savings Time ends and the time change will take place on November 2nd.

This is going to be a sad time for you however I admire that you have been a true leader in your dog's circles of lives and will keep it going. Nice part of all your legacies. 🙏
 
Joe will be here shortly, he does waste clearance and a very helpful fellow he is. We have the framework of a gazebo still standing. It's weather damaged and well past it's sell by, Joe agreed to dismantle it, remove it and take the rest of the accumulated waste that happens when you have a clear out.
Later I need to go into the nearby town of Ringwood, more fabric from Ringwood Fabrics. The lady has asked me to cook her favourite cottage pie, so I will need a few provisions to make that. It will be my pleasure to cook one of her favourite meals, I learned last night that the new shirt that she is making for me, is to have the more complicated to make, French cuffs.
French cuffs are shirt cuffs that fold back on themselves and are fastened with cufflinks, creating a double layered effect. They are characterised by two visible buttonholes on each side, which are joined and secured by the cufflink, and they feature a double fold that forms the cuff itself.

Good morning to everyone. A weather system is forming over Florida but right now only a 10% chance of development. There is another system coming off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic that is bigger and not sure where it will go. I guess the Hurricane Season is still with us.

@packleader so sad to hear this news about your dog. It is hard to lose a pet.

Hi, Invisipeeps. It's morning again, and guess who didn't get up until 7:30? It's a lovely cool morning, only 62, and our high temp today won't even get to 80. Yay.

I had the bright idea that today would be Italian veggie soup and onion bread. I'm missing one (1) ingredient for the soup, dammit, and DD is gone to her work-away-from-home job this morning so I can't get to the store. Rethinking...🤔🤔

It's also laundry day, and the garden absolutely, positively must be watered this morning.

@packleader Sorry to hear about your furry buddies 🥀. It's so hard to lose our best pals. Your others will be grieving, too, and there's no way to explain:cry:.

sleep/no sleep business....got to start laundry today and do a

Morning all,on my early walk at 6:45 wearing my yellow reflector vest ,temp was 43 as I walked past a couple of driveways up the street turned around came back for change in routine. Another sunny day temps in low 70's
This morning at 11:15 taking the Gates van to Target along with 2 other residents{ have to sign up ahead of time} I need couple of items. My friend, Mary called me yesterday , told her no need for our 'road trip'this week,taking the van since she was busy with friends ,having her kitchen redone
The rest of my day read NYT, afternoon walk, weekly dinner get together with Connie& the guys at 5:30 in dining room
