Went to sleep about 2 hours late Monday night, then got up too early at dawn, jumping right into finishing off the HTML coding for two web pages. And then uploaded it all, and all tested links, etc. Done and over. After eating a Marie Callender small Chicken Pot Pie, for lunch, fell asleep 2 hours. Now a half hour after waking and getting up am still rather unpleasantly groggy. Oh well, have 4 days to normalize and be otherwise productive until Saturday evening before I have something unusual planned up in San Francisco at a unique music venue.

Thursday after a day of windy minor rain Wednesday, given forecast diffuse marine overcast skylight, expect to wake early at dawn then with gear already ready to go, will drive 60 miles to a coastal area and do some coastal redwood stream zone photography. Otherwise, am back to reading a few science books. Over the last hour has become rather windy as the tail end of an AR storm in the Northwest is starting to bear down. Looks like we have a larger winter cold front storm arriving next week.

I offered two prayers before sunrise, ate a quick snack and went downstairs to do laundry. After bringing the clothes upstairs, I rested for about 10 minutes, then went to the polls to vote. Afterward I had breakfast before starting the dryer. It gets hot in my little kitchenette when the dryer is going. I had to put away the rest of last week's laundry to make room in the basket for today's.

I wrote two checks and took the one for our HOA dues to our community drop box. Later I cleaned Deja's fountain and Swiffered in the bedroom. I still have to sweep and Swiffer the kitchen and will do the bathroom after I empty the litter box. I also had a nice, long conversation with my Honorary Daughter and an unusually short one with HS#3.

Good morning! Got my new dishwasher installed yesterday. I learned years ago it’s best to pay for professional installation of things like that as it’s never as easy as it seems it should be! The plumber ran into a few snags, but worked it all out and I know it’s installed to code and he’ll stand by his work.

Today I have an eye doctor appointment then I’m free from any obligations until after the New Year! YIPPEE! (Knock on wood!)

Have a great day everyone! Again, thanks for being so welcoming!

I'm going to take advantage of the high of 73° today to spray my front porch, arches, and walkway with Wet n Forget. A product that gradually dissolves mold off the brick and cement.
Then I'll do a small brick wall along side the back patio.

DH used to spray everything with bleach solution and rinse. You had mix it and be very careful and over plants etc. With Wet n Forget you just spray it on, avoiding plants, then you forget about it and the mold will slowly disappear. It lasts longer than bleach.
I tested it on my brick arches a few years ago. It really works! A bit pricey but worth it.

I'm going to have to start dealing with leaves more. I have many big trees that are still full. There's a burn ban right now so I can't burn. I prefer to only pick up what I can burn that day but I might have to make an exception.

I took advantage of all the sewing materials, notions, and tools that were out from our quilt square making and sorted and organized it all. I really need to part with a big chunk. Not ready. 😉

Good Day to all! 🍁🍁🍁

Good morning Peeps of SF..... 🌤️ 🍂

Sunny-ish day today... I just had a mail from my insurance company telling me the other driver is blaming me for the crash.. but with no supporting evidence. Well of course she has no evidence, she crashed into me...

Anyway they said that now they'll contact the witness, who was the builder working literally within 10 feet of the crash...

I'm just waiting for a call from my DD in her lunch hour.. and then I'm going to take the rental car out for the first time. I have little choice, I've completely run out of bread, and fruit... ..
Normally with a rental car because its brand new I;d want to take it full advantage and drive it everywhere.. but as you all know my confidence has taken a battering after 2 people smashed into me in the space of just 16 weeks

Anyway we'll see how it goes.. fingers crossed..

Tonight is Guy fawkes night.. countrywide fireworks, bonfire parties everywhere...
I have seen enough of those when DD was little so I don't go any more.. but the neighbourhood will be letting off loud fireworks until past midnight.. so I'll see them out of my window..

Have the best Wednesday you can folks...

Good morning to everyone. Today has started off with bad experiences for doing things with online and phone calls.

I tried to update for getting a mail in ballot for 2026 and it is not available at this time. I paid insurance for car online and had to pay $14.90 for using credit card but didn't want it taken out of my bank account. I tried to get a new doctor as our clinic is too full for appointments and they suggested getting a new doctor but that is the same as far as getting an appointment as the one we have. A shortage of doctors, I guess.

I need to get a new drug plan and it takes forever to do online. I guess I need to keep at it tomorrow.

I hope all goes well for everyone and have a good day. :)

Well I'm back, I got as much groceries as I could because despite this car being an almost new car..it's horrible to drive. It's VW.. and the steering is pulling to the left.. and everything kept flashing up on the dash..telling me the bonnet was open .. then the boot was open.. i stopped twice on the way back off road to check, and it wasn't... it flashed up that the the right tyre has little pressure... FGS...!!

then when i got home there was a call from the very first accident insurance.. asking me to conact them which I did.. and the other party is still denying liability through her insurers.. and this person i spoke to has just been given my case from someone else.. so he was asking for all sorts of information that I'd already sent to them months ago.. and eventually he found it in his files after questioning me like the gestapo..... but it's all so needlessly stressful...

I got a text from the car repairers as well to say they've started the rapirs, and they hope to have it all done by the 11th of November...

I motored over to a local grist mill that was recommended and picked up 2lb bag coarse cornmeal. Love cornbread!

Next went to Helen GA, which is billed as a Bavarian village. Huh. I wasn’t expecting much in the way of authenticity and was not disappointed. Pretty much a tourist trap. The bakery that had been recommended was closed today so that was a bust

Not sure what I’ll get up to the rest of the afternoon Just enjoying beautiful weather and the glory of the fall foliage

@hollydolly Could you ask for another car to drive? That car is a driving nightmare or so it seems. I am so sorry that you are going through this problem with your accidents and everything. I really hope the best for you. 🤗

Back when I lived in Arkansas, we had a flash flood that wiped out the culvert at the bottom of my drive. I needed a cement man to cover
my new culverts. This guy named Kenny came highly recommended, but, I was warned that he was a prepper, gun nut, rode motorcycles and a bit strange. Right then, I knew we would hit it off and I was right.

Ended up working with him because, after I had finished building our house, I was bored and he had a backlog of jobs to do. In particular,
four new houses on a golf course and some pole barns. We laid all the block foundations at the golf course homes, then went and built two pole barns (one with living quarters). Then, after the carpenters had framed and sheathed the house's, we finished the outside's with either brick or faux rock, (we called it "lick and stick") and did all the roofing. What a great time we had.

I just found out that Kenny has passed away yesterday. Only 65 years old. R.I.P. my dear friend.
