Well it's been another horrible heavy rainy day again today..... and forecast for more tomorrow... Horrendous to think people are sleeping outside in the cities in this terrible weather...

I've been moving stuff and organising as much as I can around the new wardrobes which also have 4 deep drawers within them..

I think I'm going to ask my neighbours if they want the stand alone Oak drawers that I no longer have space for, because they have 3 children so they need all the storage they can get I'm sure.. but whether they'll have the space for them I don't know. If not I'll sell them online.

Talking of which,... I sold a modern tri colour standard lamp last week on Ebay.. the buyer paid immedately then asked for my address for collection.. then I heard nothing else...

Been a busy weekend so far. Nearly 4 year old GS's baby brother is sick with a fever so we took the older one for the day yesterday (Friday). We were going to have him today anyway because DIL's grandparents both died within the last ten days and the service and funerals were today.

It worked out that GS was happy to spend the night with us. Baby brother went to one of my DIL's friends today while DS & DDIL were with her family.

The carpet cleaners arrived at my house about 8 AM so we set GS up in the kitchen with a laptop and played some Paw Patrol while the guys worked.

After they left, he and I made cookies together. We just brought him home a little while ago, and I'm fully spent. A quieter day tomorrow will be welcome. More baking and maybe DH & I will attack the china cabinets.

Today was a wonderful day. My Honorary Son #3 and I met my BFF, who's up here from Florida, for lunch. They were talking about walking and jogging, so HS#3 suggested we go to the mountain so we could get some walking in. I wasn't crazy about the idea, but of course went along. I don't do hills well and especially now that I'm out of shape. But when we got up there, it was cold and I think HS#3 realized it would be hard on me....so we went to the look out spot where we could see much of the city and clear across to New York City.

When we left the mountain, we went to HS#3's studio, which is in his apartment. Like my son and I, BFF was very impressed with his apartment's decor and how his studio is set up (his apartment floor plan mirrors mine, but mine sure doesn't look like his). She really likes his music and was curious about how he composes music digitally. I had tried to explain it to her, then he did...last time she was up and we went for lunch.

BFF is a composer, arranger and pianist who has played for several famous artists and served as musical director for various theater groups over the decades. But she does all of that the old fashioned way. Seeing HS#3's digital process absolutely amazed her and they composed a couple of short tracks right then and there. We liked one so much I told him to make sure he saved it so we can develop it later.

BFF had to be back at her nieces by a certain time, so she could not stay for his broadcast and asked that we drop her off half way so she could finish her walk (she's an exercise fanatic). I came home, ate a little more of the wrap I got for lunch and went back over in time for the show like I do most Saturdays.

Before logging in to the forum, I attempted to sign in to SSA.gov (via Login.gov) but after completing all the steps and getting a code, I got the "we couldn't complete your request" message! 😠 I didn't get a chance to nap so I'm sure that after I have my brownie and milk, I'm going to fall asleep.
:D:sleep::sleep: Well, I can't believe it ! This was written last night and I didn't hit post because I fell asleep at the computer! I still haven't had my brownie.

For those wondering, Mom just turned 84 last month, And Dad is 85. He's doing well so far, even with staying inside. This will be the tough part, soon. Spooky is still scared to go upstairs, the air machine makes enough of a noise that she's scared of going up.
I stayed in rest mode all day, not my idea but my body/mind's idea. My daughter helped mom feed the peacocks, and fill the bird feeder too. Our neighbor brought a wonderful looking homemade cinnamon roll yesterday, with lots of icing on it... have not tried it yet but it has a heavy icing, looks great!

Count down to Christmas lunch is moving along well. Got all cards and gift wrapping done yesterday. We paired down to one nice gift so it made it easier this year. A few bobbles for the kids.
It's cold and dull around here. If we do get snow it's usually in Jan or Feb although we did see snow on Christmas Eve many years ago.
I have done a lot of cooking and freezing ahead so that's going to help with lunch.

@Pepper sure hope you're hanging in there. 🤗

Good morning!
It's dreary here today, but warmer than it has been.

Right now, I'm not sure what mischief I'll find to get into today. I have one small box of misc Christmas things in the closet. I'll probably pull that out. It's mostly music CDs and festive jewelry, etc. There might be a few decorations...I don't really remember what I threw in there. I guess it'll be a surprise!

Good morning everyone. It is raining but not hard and no thunder. It will rain all day and night. We have not had rain in a long time so it will help.

@hawkdon I am happy you are sleeping better. I hope it continues for you and you feel better.

@moviequeen1 Your day sounds like a nice one with your friends. It is always a nice read from you on your days.

I ordered some cute Christmas cards and some presents for our friends and relatives. It seems like the holidays come faster than they used to in the past.

Have a great day, everyone. :)

Afternoon peeps of SF...

It's an absolutely filthy day...heavy rain again..roads are chock-a-block.... horrible.. and its dark now at 4pm.🌧️🌧️

I've been out with my friend having lunch... it's our usual pre Christmas lunch... I forgot to take a picture today so this is a picture from earlier in the year...same place, similar lunch

lunch.jpg

Amazon left a parcel on my doorstep, which was in Cardboard, and it was soaked through by the time I got home at 3pm... It annoys me because they report that they ''handed it to resident'', when in fact they've just dumped it ...

Have the best day you can folks.... 🍂 🌺 🎄

Not stepping out of this house until Tuesday (warmer then).
Guess I will assist DH with his jig-saw puzzle and play with Myer.
Get the last of my Christmas gifts taken care of when I go out.
I have a 21 year old gr-son with Special Needs who loves to get cash.
The trick with him (mind of a 2-3 yr old) is any paper money is ONE dollar.
So I get him 10 five dollar bills and he thinks he is rich. He fans them out
and has his daddy take a picture to send me. So cute with those big eyes and smile.

Woke up a little before 5 AM and after a short time I knew there was no chance of falling back asleep, so got up, showered, dressed, made coffee, parsed through my emails and started hanging out with y'all.

Today is December 7th, 1941. The day that will live in infamy. I knew a couple who were married that day. It was a morning wedding in NY, so they were actually married well before the Pearl Harbor attack at nearly 2 pm NY time.

The wife told me that whenever she revealed her wedding date people were repulsed by her callousness - as if they'd gone ahead with the celebration despite the bombing in Hawaii.

Edited to add: I managed my first ever IRA disbursements this morning. What a process that is!

yes it was a terrible day that day.... Japan brought the US into the war and Germany declared war on the USA on the 31st December ...... where we had been fighting for over 2 years... a war that should never have happened ...horrific loss of lives world wide...

However that being said, it's scary to think how much more overcrowded Europe and the US would have been today if it hadn't been for both world wars... and the Spanish Infuenza pandemic killing ... in the space of 27 years... an estimated 176 million people.... it doesn't even compute !

Today is our 62 years of being married.

I wanted to be married Dec, 9,, hubby's birthday which is his birthday.
That date was a Monday & he couldn't take time off from his job.

We aren't doing anything special, due to our colds.

The home made chicken soup is gone,,,.
Trying to think of foods that I have on hand to help kick the colds.

The only thing that is hungry is the dog.
Cat & kitten are the be on back porch hoping for lunch.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning, are you able to use a heated mattress pad on your bed? I have one and it really soothers those aches and pains on my little arthritic body. Try it, I bet you'll like it!
It will allow you to sleep better, too.

Well I've just heard from the Buyer of the lamp... she sent a mail which is full of spelling errors, apologies and ranitng about anxiety meds.. etc... Good lord.... just come and collect your item my dear.. I don't need to know your health history...

It always worries me when people go on like this because they're often unstable enought to leave an unwarranted negative review...
