How Many Forums Are You On?

This one, a gardening forum, a dance forum, a chihuahua forum, a Naranon forum (for the loved ones of addicts) and a private forum I created and webmaster so a bunch of friends from a previous abuse forum can stay in touch. I'm registered on several more but don't visit as much as these I mentioned.

I'm also on facebook, and there are a number of private groups I belong to there. An abuse group, a post-abuse group, a loved one of addicts group, a wellness for women group, a dance group and half a dozen buy/sell/trade groups for my neighborhood and general part of town.

Cloud 8 is the first forum I was ever on, more then 10 years ago, I think. Enjoyed it. Then some of the folks split and made their own forum. I went there for a while but it was nowhere as much fun as Cloud 8 had been. Cloud 8 is a computer forum, the hosts/owners helping people with all kinds of 'puter problems. But they had a "fun" section which we mostly visited. I don't know if the forum is still up and functioning but the site Cloud 8 still exists.

I'm also on FB but belong to author/promotion groups. Those are "business" and not fun (particularly) groups. :p
 
if anyone wants to discuss politics you need to go into knitting paradise --they have a section called the( attic) they do some cussing and carrying on in there
i go there just once in a while --not to participate but see whats going on
 

In addition to Senior Forums, I am presently on two others, both of which are currently pretty quiet.

This was originally a skeptic board which was formed when Skeptic Magazine ( www.skeptic.com ) discontinued the forum hosted on their own web site. 20 years later we are down to just a few active participants. Check us out, if you'd like. We could use some new members. Full disclosure - - I'm an administrator.

If you want to rant and rave over politics there is debatepolitics.com. I am proud to say I have received several warnings from the moderators;)
 
I'm registered on three maybe four.

So far Senior Forums is the best fit for me but I'm always looking for a comfortable place to hang out.

I was married to an abusive man for many years. Not physically abusive until it became obvious I was going to leave him. He was verbally, mentally, emotionally, sexually and financially abusive.

I discovered an online forum that was a support group for loved ones of abusers. It was a lifeline when I so desperately needed one...I had become suicidal as a result of the hopelessness I was feeling in my situation. There are many such forums out there these days, but back in the late 90's they weren't mainstream, and I was very lucky that I found the one I did. I am still friends with many of the people from that forum who helped me back then, and who I ultimately went on to help, after I got out. We stay in touch online and also have periodic meetups. They saved my life, as I saved theirs.
