How many meds are you on?

It's Friday night. I have to sort my meds for the next week. I remember when 8 o'clock was plain old 8 and not "med time." Ya know, there really was a time I didn't take 1 med. As you get older, you collect doctors, get cataracts, go on Medicare, and start taking meds. When I go to the pharmacy, they don't even ask my name, they know it. I'm considered to be staff. So, I'm up to 12 meds/day. How many meds are you on?

I take 3 prescriptions meds. Along with them, I take 3 vitamin/supplements.

Soon bringing on board a pain med.

Coffee
Vodka
White Rum
Trazodone
recently prescribed trazodone... have had LOUSY sleep... since covid rolled into town. i'm still awake on most nights/morning at 3:30. will eventually fall asleep around 6am and then be dead to the world until about 1pm... today i didn't wake up until almost 2:30.

have only been taking trazodone for about 4days... not impressed. gonna call doc to see if i should try higher dosage.

Here's the thing: sleep meds can help you fall asleep but no sleep meds can help you stay asleep more than maybe 4 or 5 hours.
Ambien gets you to fall asleep the best of anything I've used, but Trazodone works about the same, and I'm just taking 1/2 of the 50mg tablet.

I am on a diuretic, Lisinopril, Luvox (anxiety) and Potassium regularly. Before my surgery I got prescribed Meloxicam for pain. I take OTC Tylenol too

My only prescription meds are Lexapro to prevent depression, Trazadone to help me sleep and Finasteride to prevent hair loss. I have not seen any negative side effects from any of these medications. The rest are all supplements.

I was prescribed 100 mg of Trazodone for sleep. The first time I took one I was stumbling around the bedroom. So I started taking 1/4, or 25 mg. I recently increased to 1/2, or 50 mg. I sleep soundly through the night... a good 8 hours. Our gardener was out in our courtyard outside the bedroom with his leaf blower this morning, and I didn't even wake up. I find that 50 mg is the right amount.

BTW, I also have lots of "white noise" in the bedroom. I have a fan and an air filter set to the highest speed. Nothing wakes me up!

Three. Over sixty gift pack for men, as it were. Enlarged prostate, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. They have names but darned if I can pronounce them. Arnold

That's fantastic that you sleep all night, I could count the number of times I slept 8 hours in a night over the past 15 years on one hand. I experienced some priapism a bit when I first started Trazodone, but halving the dose to 25mg eliminated that.
I have a HEPA filter in the bedroom which also provides a white noise with its fan.

Too many! But I've never felt healthier in my life. Go figure. I was able to get off my heart meds in 2017, a year after I had the cardiac ablation to correct my atrial fibrillation that was kicking my ....... Not counting supplements, I'm taking 7 meds in pill form and 5 eyedrops (one of which is a necessary lubricant).

Two prescription and a half dozen supplements. My favorite supplement, Niagen.

50mg Trazodone works for me too, but I supplement it with a little Melatonin.
