Or you have to buy a large amount and never use the rest. Recipe calls for 1/4 teaspoon and the smallest amount you can buy (for the cost of gold) is a cup.
I looked into some French recipes... some cooking videos. About halfway through the last one I watched, I thought to myself, "that's not gonna happen."
I was making bread for a while but then decided it's not worth the effort. While most of them came out good, I can just buy good bread for a few bucks from King Soopers, so why go through all that work and cleanup? Even if I become totally incapacitated somehow, there's always delivery.
What gets me is meals that are touted as healthy. Fresh broccoli is the first ingredient. Ok, you've got my attention. Then I read down the list and spy 1/2 cup of mayo and 2 cups of grated cheddar cheese.
I really enjoy reading recipe books but I’m the same way about saying ’never mind’ if it list an ingredient I rarely use.
i do make bread but agree I could buy it easier. I use a bread machine on manual cycle only. Let it knead the dough then take it out and shape and glaze it as I wish. Or I divide the dough into two loaves. Bake them and freeze one or give it away.
A bread machine is terrible for actually baking bread but sure is helpful with the kneading when your hands get old.
