How many steps a day do you do?

When I was younger between walking 4 miles a day and raising 3 kids, going to college, working, etc I never worried about steps. Now that my life isn’t as active I like to keep track so I am not fooling myself.

I don't count steps because it's so variable. Instead, I go by distances and walk about 2 1/2 miles in one hour.
Walking distances
Iris to end at Van Buren 0.99m; return via Sage 2.37m
Iris-Gamble-Krameria-Gardner-home 2.26m
Iris- Gardner-Mariposa-Porter-Iris 2.78m
Washington-Van Buren-Gardner-Krameria-Porter-Sage-Van Buren-Washington 2.6m - Same but skip detour Sage = 2.3m
Washington-Via Los Caballeros-Gardner-Van Buren-Washington 2.5m - Skip Stater Bros = 2.23 m
Washington-Van Buren-King-Krameria-Suttles-Ponderosa-Washington 2.74 - Same but to furthest point 1.38m
Washington-Van Buren-Krameria-Gardner-Iris 2m Same but home at Washington 1.86m

I don't count steps (although I used to do around 10,000 a day at one time). Now I just walk on the treadmill daily ( 1 hour) and go up and down the stairs several times a day.

I always used to walk in the early hours of the morning, about 5.15 am with my neighbour., the best part of the day, usually about 4klms. Then my husband passed away and all that came to a halt because I decided to sell my home. Now I don't have a walking partner, so I go to the shopping mall and walk 6 floors. People say I should join a walking club, but this is not my scene. Being Summer here in Sydney Aust. it is very hot about 8am ., so I like to dodge the sunlight.
