How messy is your vehicle?

Ron and I are both particular about the way we keep our vehicles. Ron even gets his work van detailed every couple months because he can’t stand the accumulation of grime, mud, sawdust and general debris that collects in and on it from the job sites he’s on.

I have a couple friends and one family member who are all very relaxed about their cars but none of them even BEGIN to approach that level of messy!! It makes me wonder what her home must look like! 😖

I've only seen a couple of cars like that. But they're usually not running & there is someone living in it.
I make sure my car is reasonably clean; especially the windows. As we age, & our eyesight deteriorates, clean car windows (inside & out) are more important.
Info - haze buildup on inside of windshield:
"The film you see is created by all the plastic that's inside your car. When your car is out in the sun, the sun heats up the interior to 130-145F or so. This heat creates off-gassing of the plastic dashboard and all other components. The plastic molecules get into the air and then settle on the glass surfaces." The fire-retardant chemicals in your car's interior also out-gas & add to the haze.

I like this little tool for cleaning the inside of the windshield. (Windshield Wonder). It reaches the entire windshield, including that narrow area above the front of the dash:

My vehicle is empty but it does have most of the dust that has accumulated since I purchased it in 2012.

I remember when Suze Orman used to say she could tell a person’s financial situation by the interior of their automobile.

I keep our vehicles clean...especially the interior. Living on a gravel road, the exterior always gets a fair dose of dust and dirt every time we go somewhere. I keep a small electric leaf blower in the garage, and before I put the vehicle away, I blow the dust off...so it doesn't build up in the garage/house. If we've had to go somewhere in the rain, and the vehicle got a bit muddy, I rinse it off at the first opportunity.

I don't drive that much, and my new (2019) car collects dust on the outside more, from sitting and waiting for me to take it for a ride.
Inside is fairly spotless, even with my doggy riding in the back seat.
I don't leave things in the car, only my sunglasses for driving, security card to get in the front gate, and sun shade for the front window.

We pulled in late to a motel we had booked for four days. There were lots of empty rooms and they put us beside two ladies who had a vehicle interior just like that. When they wouldn’t move us, I cancelled the next three days. Guess they didn’t have time to clean their car after ‘working’ all night. Never forgot that car.

@win231 I’m going to look for a Windshield Wonder.

Those pics above look like all recycled stuff...maybe fairly clean but too much! My recycle is always clean stuff as I don't recycle anything that is oily or food on it, etc. I rinse anything that might need it. And I don't let it accumulate like hers. So that's not quite as bad as if she had smelly garbage. But still, she's got too much of it in the car to be safe to drive.

I keep my car clean at all times.

Considering I've had my car 19 years in July, it's no too bad. The usual dried dirt and grit on the floor of the drier's side and what looks like dried grass (real grass, not weed) clippings in the trunk. I don't know how they got there.

When the rubber weather stripping around the doors & trunk starts wearing away, it lets in stuff that blows around.

I am OCD about keeping my vehicles clean. One day I was riding to a baseball game with a friend. He was already eating the peanuts that I had bought to take inside to the game and drinking a can of pop. When he finished drinking the pop, he threw the can into the back area of the car. I laughed when he did that, then I looked in back and saw candy wrappers, more soda cans and potato chip bags. I told him he was a pig and then he laughed.

My oldest sister, on the other hand is a disgrace to our family. Her vehicle was always filled with trash. She'll never change her ways. Middle sis and I are very much like our maternal grandmother... in reference to cleanliness.
