How much was a cup of coffee when you were born.

I was watching a 1958 episode of Perry Mason. One of the running gags was Mason eating at an upscale, terribly expensive French restaurant and a cup of coffee was $1. All through the episode, nobody could figure what made a cup of coffee cost a whole $1. I'm not a Starbucks guy, so I don't know what a plain old black coffee would cost there??? Or at Mickey D's? And weirdly you can find out what a cup of coffee cost when you were born.

I don't know how much a cup of coffee was when I was born - in 1953, but when I was around 20, there was a restaurant near me called "Sambos" & they advertised: "Sambos has it - a cup of coffee for ten cents."

It says 22 cents in 1946 - not where I was born...
