How often does the road sweeper come to your road...?

Aside from you Gary O... I know you're the only road sweeper in your place...:D

I suppose it depends on whether you live in a city , suburb or rural area.. we live in a semi rural area... just 5 small roads where I live, and the road sweeper comes about once a month...

In Southern Spain , the road sweepers are out every day as are the domestic Bin carts, because of course any rubbish left in the heat is going to be a health hazard ... we don't have that kind of hot weather so our bins get emptied on a 2 week rota basis. 2 Green recycling wheelie bins one week, and normal domestic waste the following week

In London the road sweepers are out most days ... but there's not much kerbside litter here in the rural shires, and also if there's a piece of litter been dropped by a passer by , most householders here will pick it up and dispose of it anyway...

Who keeps your roads clean outside your property Ken ( I know you have a HUGE place)>... :D

No sweepers down here in Florida. Usually the sudden downpours keep the streets fairly clean.

Blimey Pappy, if the rain kept the roads clean, the Uk would be sparkling.... ;)

Treeguy ours looks like this...

..on these smaller roads where I live... sometimes we get the smaller ones....

A city street sweeping truck comes once or twice in the spring to clean along the curb.

In the center city we have a privately funded crew that keeps the sidewalks/streets clean and does what it can to shame the city into participating. The group also funds additional security, police cameras, festivals, decorations, plants, etc... At some point we will have a privately funded city within a city, kind of sad and a little bit creepy.

Sounds like we're lucky to get ours done so regularly , but of course the cost comes out of the annual council tax everyone pays here..

Every couple of months the sweeper will pass by our home. The city has a small fleet of sweepers that are constantly in use but more so in the core of the city, not so much on the outskirts where we live.

None here. Landscapers come to our complex once a week and blow down the parking lots and drives here, but after that day, nothing. Depending on winds, during a t-storm, there can be a lot of leaves on the driving/parking areas here.

Unfortunately, we seen a number of trash bags torn open on our main street next to our complex. People will put their trash bag on the rear of their vehicle, with intention of driving to one of the complex large trash containers, but forget and the bag drops off of the vehicle and onto the main street. Generally city workers have to clean up the mess, when they can get to it...…….and that never/ever on a weekend.

Twice per year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. Roads in our County are fairly clean. Mainly, the sweepers are just picking up loose stones and other debris. As soon as the streets in My development are swept, I can get my Corvette out for a ride.

I much preferred having the runways swept, which most airports do several times overnight. This was and is very important for safety reasons.

Since I live in small, private condo community, there's no litter or trash along the lanes. Sweepers come in the spring to sweep up winter's sand. The dumpsters and emptied once a week and the recycling truck also once a week.

It seems the landscapers are always here doing something, so if a wild piece of paper lands somewhere they pick it up or a neighbor will.

We live on a gravel road, in the country....so no sweepers here. The county road grader comes through every few weeks, and the county dumps some fresh gravel on the road as needed, so it stays in fairly good shape. I, and a couple of other neighbors, have tractors and blades/landscape rakes....so between the county maintenance visits, we touch up the road, as needed.

Usually twice a year they put out a sweeping sign to get your car off the street, we usually park in the driveway so it makes no difference to us. I usually sweep by my own curb especially in fall when I'm dealing with leaves.

You are lucky. We are on a dirt road and the county does nothing to maintain it. Last year we all chipped in and had it graded but then it rained and it was back to where it was. Total waste of money. Best shape the road was ever in was after the fires last summer. All of the fire engines and other heavy equipment driving up and down the road evened out the potholes lol. But after this rainy winter, they are back to how they were. Can`t wait to move off this road!

I the city where we had our business (and where I grew up) the street sweeper comes every week. One side of the street on Wednesdays and the other side on Thursdays. Always a pain to be moving cars (we had an auto body repair shop) and received many a ticket over the years when we forgot what day it was!

I believe it's about once a week here and I really like the sound of that vehicle and the fact the road is getting a good sweeping~:)

Twice a year we have a day where we can put larger pieces of garbage out on the curb...stuff that wouldn’t fit into your bins.

I’ve noticed that the big street sweeper trucks come the day after that, which makes sense.
