How to find your county's weekly cases per 100,000 residents on the Washington Post site

I'm fairly sure that the Washington Post's Covid coverage is free to everyone, please forgive me if it isn't.

  1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/
  2. Scroll down to the section Guide to the Pandemic
  3. Click on in the section with the graphs titled Places with highest daily reported cases per capita
  4. On the new page scroll down until you see the map of the US
  5. Make sure that Cases is in red, Adj. for population is in grey and Since last week is in grey
  6. If those choices aren't as such click on those sections to make them either red or grey
  7. Click on the state you live in
  8. When you move the mouse around it will show the name of the county where the hand icon is.
  9. When your county comes up notice the Since last week number at the bottom and that is the number of cases per 100,000 since last week
  10. To get the daily average divide that number by 7
The graphs that are originally shown when you click to get into the section are daily averages. You can get the number of daily average cases for your state by going back to the top of the page and clicking on the Show all button below the graphs if your state isn't shown. Please note that the name of the state for the graph is above the graph, not below it. I made that mistake when I first started looking at these numbers.

Our local TV stations report the number of cases....updated daily...by county, on their web sites.

I'm much more of a print news person so I haven't looked at our TV stations sites. The nice thing about Washington Post site is you can use the same technique to find the info for areas where you don't live although you'd need to know the country you were looking for.

Well our emergency broadcast system just activited to tell me that the virus was overtaking our area, the hospitals were overloaded, and wear your mask. We will not go into lockdown cause the almighty dollar rules our world.

Trumps son, on fox tv, said the virus was over. I know cause they aired his speech on CNN.

I say REPENT ITS THE END WORLD REPENT, at home cause the churches are closed. But, hopefully, the world won’t end before the USA election results. I want to know who to blame. 😂

None of my ramblings are political. I am going to try and nap again.

The PA Department of Health has the info on their website by zip code, so if your county numbers are high, you can see how near it is to you.
