Okay pleeeze break it down. I am not techy in the least. I have a collection of "Boyd's Bears". I got them for free in a leaf bag. Cute but apparently a collectors item. How do you sort it all out? Any advice welcome.

I did E bay a few years ago. Sold many items I had around the house and then bought to sell. I did quite well. Now is a different story. So many fees to pay, just not worth it anymore. There are other sites that may be better, although things aren't moving like they use to. What I did learn was to research the item online first. Check the site you are selling on and see if there are items up there and what they are selling for, or if at all. Be very careful about the condition of the item you are selling. List every little flaw you can find in the item. These people go over the items with a fine tooth comb. You don't want to have to return their money. Also if you are shipping the item package it well. The post office can really do serious damage to a package. Another way is to sell on Craig's List. No fees but you have to know what the item is worth because there is no bidding involved. But then you have the bother of phone calls and emails and having the person coming to your house. Sometimes not such a good idea. Maybe the local newspaper has an online buy and sell section. Those Boyd Bears are worth a lot of money. I would first check Ebay just to see what people are selling them for. At least then you have an idea of what they are worth. Check to see if there are any bidders also. The item will show that. That you can do for free. Just go on Ebay site, put vintage Boyd Bears in the search and see what comes up. Good luck.

I sold some stuff on my local Craigslist site years ago. Opened an account there, took some photos, wrote my ad and requested local buyers and cash only, that was also for the car I sold. Never sold any high priced items or collectibles though. I requested their contact info, and I initially spoke with them by phone before giving my address.
