How's your spring turning out??

April turned cold here, and wet too. We got a snow storm on the 4th that froze and wiped out all the flowers. :( Even the flowering trees all turned brown, the blossoms mushy and rotten. This is going to be a lousy season for photographing spring I fear.

How's spring shaping up where you are??
 

Still chilly here. Should be warmer by now. As usual the weather fluctuates and you're never quite sure whether to believe the weather forecasts. We have loads of flowers though and daffodils are everywhere. We start getting flowers in January.
 
The winter has left the place soaking and the gardens and parks are still trying to recover from this. Spring has been a bit of a mixed bag so far. A few weeks back we had lovely weather for about 10 days or maybe even longer. That allowed me to get some of the garden chores out of the way and turn the soil a little to let the air dry it a bit. Then it returned to rain and showers. For the past week, it has been kinda alternating good and bad days. However........ in saying all that, it is not as bad a spring as we can expect in Scotland. Maybe that is still to come. Hopefully not:fingerscrossed:
 

Absolutely beautiful here highs up to 25 c ( 77f ) the last couple of days. Been great so far a bit of rain coming and then back to sun.. Been able to get garden ready, garlic already 1.5 feet high.. Swiss chard ready for harvest..
 
Ugh Ugh Ugh ... snow this afternoon, turning to possible freezing rain overnight. Alberta Clipper coming through. Feels like -7C/30F.
 
Really disgusting - April snow coming instead of April showers. The grass is slowly getting greener, but not even a misty hint of leaves on trees yet.

.. and now they're mentioning something called "snow mould". Geez, we can't escape allergies, even when it's snowing.
 
Yep it was the mid-70s last week then suddenly snow showers yesterday. The plants don't know what to do. I have a large Buddha I put in the side garden every Spring. Ceramic so he comes inside when it freezes. I haven't been able to put him out yet and it's April!
 
Here in New Jersey it snowed all day yesterday. It didn't stick but made for a miserable day. When I heard that it was going to be so cold and nasty last week I cut all my daffodils and put them in vases in every room. I'm glad I did. My neighbors daffodils are laying flat on the ground.
 
It snowed yesterday and today. I assume it has hurt the growth of many things outside. They said this will be the last snowfall of the season. I hope so.
 
My spring is turning out horrible and scary.

The weather, however, is lovely, cold and sunny. Much better than spring mugginess! Clear and cold like good fall weather, with the very different colors of spring.
 
This year's April weather in Massachusetts has been colder and wetter than normal. I'm eager for a beautiful day of sunshine and mild temps so I can get out in the yard.

That happened to the daffs up here too. It's so depressing to see dropping flat daffs everywhere and brown flowers on the trees. I've never seen anyting like it.

Right back at ya Bob. It has been terrible, and the Marathon is next Mon. Of course the runners would love to run in cooler temps. :eek:
 
It's been excessively windy here for almost 3 weeks. At first I thought it was zephyrs.

Looks like today starts a run of good weather with better temps and sunshine! I can't wait until I don't need the heat on in the house anymore.
