Human leg found in NYC but not the owner

Guess that person didn’t have a leg to stand on! (Sorry, gallows humor…😈 )

Shoes with detached feet still inside have been found washed up on beaches, more often than you would think as well. They are thought to be from drowning victims, with the buoyancy of athletic shoes carrying them ashore after decomposition and aquatic life have detached the feet… 🙀

I remember reading in the newspaper about a man finding 5 garbage bags in his front yard one morning. He was suspicious, so he called the cops. When they opened the first bag, there were body parts inside. It was later found that all 5 bags contained body parts that had been cut up. This was in NYC. Where else?

Horrible story that involved a family that were our neighbors and best friends for many years:

Their son and 3 of his co-workers were returning from a construction site in a small plane, which went down far offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. None of the bodies were recovered.

A couple of weeks later, the bottom half of his body washed ashore, still dressed in his jeans, with his wallet still in his pocket.

His father never recovered from it. It sent him into dementia.

That brings back memories (not good ones) about the subway tracks in New York City, and things that were found near or on them. Some of course were bodies.
