Working in a technical field before retirement, I witnessed many advances & the need for added manpower. I'm thankful everyday I'm not in the workforce. It took a few years but our section went from a high of 81 employees to 4 just before I retired. We had increased our processing power at least a 1000 fold, unlimited data storage with everything online. Manufacturing sections automated most of their functions and the site I was at reduced it's workforce from a high of 8,000 down to 2,700 all the while taking on more government contracts.

Besides I self-destruct while trying to use the self scanners at Walmart.
