This hurricane was catastrophic for North Carolina and yet the story is under reported and buried in tabloid type news. Death toll is 24 along with the catastrophic flooding. And yes what's down stream will literally get the remnants.

When looking at the aerial photographs it shows how trapped the animals were-surround by forest and man made structures. It's like they were in a bowl. Horrific end.

So many dead animals it has been suggested they be used for compost.
