I am looking for a way to convert HEIF's and HEVC formats into a jpg and the other into a avi

U took some pictures on my Samsung S23 phone the other day, got them off the phone, and then went to post them to find they are in a HEIF format, and the video I took of ships is in an HEVC format. I know there are programs to convert, .png files into .jpg files... Is there any way to do with these formats... Does anybody know... that would be appreciative...

VLC media player will convert most media files to most other media files, but sometimes it's not too obvious how to do that. That's where YouTube how-to videos come in handy.

I get images on to my computer, open with my image editor,
then I export them, this gives me a choice of format to save
them in, they stay on my machine in whichever format I choose,
usually JPEG.

The trouble with video formatting, is getting a programme
that will open the original, try Windows Media Player, if it is
still available, VLC Media Player is another, Audacity is not too
good at opening some formats.

If all your attempts fail, upload it to YouTube, I think that you
can have a private place there, then download it back to your
computer as MP3, via a YouTube download programme, there
are several and most are free.

Mike.

I’ve not a clue but glad you found some people who do. I am genuinely totally thrilled when I learn something new from others who know more which isn’t too difficult with me. šŸ˜lol
