I came across another cafe that does not display food prices.

That seems to be getting more common here. We all know about inflation but you would think prices would be held more than one day. I don't often eat out but when I do I like to check website for menus and pricing. So many are not posting pricing online. It is like they expect you to get there and dine whatever the price is.

We haven't come across restaurants with no price on the menu. The ones with numbers like 38 alongside a N Y strip steak IMO are a not great way to represent $38.00. Then drinks & sides are numbered too. Doing the math for a meal isn't fun, especially if the food isn't all that good.

With one place, I asked the price of 9 different items until the staff member told me to go away.
My response was, "If you displayed prices we would not need to go through this charade, another sale lost"

They are too embarrassed.
My thinking as well. Price too high? lose sales, no prices? lose sales.
Dumb business model.
A few years back Muffin Break franchisees were not allowed to display prices. I wrote to head office three times over 6 months and explained that their business model was costing the franchisees money.
4 months later, all Muffin Break outlets had prices displayed.

Red Lobster near me, about 2 miles (North Texas). Now $50.99. I have not been in 5 years but it was just over $30 back then. I have taken to buying lobster, shrimp, crab and cooking it at home. I will also admit I have no one to go out to eat with any longer. I go out with the kids once in a while but the DIL is not a fan of Red Lobster.

I am lucky to have a couple of old ladies who will join me for breakfast. Out to dinner is a distant memory. Cooking at home is the answer but I stick mostly to shrimp and fake crab.

If you do enjoy lobster, I just buy the lobster tails. Of course they have gone up in price. I used to get them for $5 each for a 4 ounce. I would buy a case of 20 when on sale. They keep very well. So for $100 or the cost of a couple of Red Lobster dinners, I would have many meals, I usually do 2 at a time.

Just thaw, either cut them in half or use your kitchen shears to crack the top of the shell, pull the meat on top. I season with paprika, salted butter and a sprinkle of lemon pepper. 400 degree oven for 15/ 20 minutes. Of course all ovens cook cook differently so if you give it a go, just keep an eye on them so as not to over cook.

Maybe it depends on if it's an a la carte dinner or if extras are included. At an eatery my mom used to like to go to, they stated on the menu - "Includes soup or salad and dessert."
