I can't believe a NextDoor post

Okay, you guys have me curious so I've looked up our neighborhood on, Nextdoor. I think my husband might like this; he's very social in our neighborhood.

I warn you, it can get very political on that app. Not to mention insults, flame wars and general attitudes of "You suck as a neighbor" I was there for 6 months. Left it 1 year ago and don't miss it.

Someone has an air b&B on Saratoga Lake and is overbooked in July and looking for someone to accommodate their excess guests. Really??? Send them right down...
Even on "Buy nothing" groups. Had one person say "Anyone got a 55" tv they don't want? We'd like it for the guesthouse"

While it's IS a "Buy nothing" group. One would assume it's for those who can't afford such things.

I believe it!

To debs post, these people are expecting what they viewed online and that's not what the people who got over booked, through no fault of theirs, will get. Might be a bit upset.

well it keeps you informed of what's going on. How these people find these things out I have no idea lol... however they do, and it's handy.. but of course there's always the usual FB type lunatic on there as well...

It does sound interesting. I told my husband about it and he says he's fine where he is with his neighbors. So, you know, K.
Gods know I'm not going to do it. LOL My husband is the family ambassedor to the neighborhood. ;)

It's actually quite spread out, rather than just the immediate area. For example.. I get some posts North London which is 15 miles from me...and some post from West of the county.. which is 20 miles.. and so on... the Majority are from the nearest 2 market towns.. . The good thing is if there's a problem in the area.. burglaries, car thefts etc.. Nextdoor App has it first.. and also there's lots of ''services' on there too.. handyman services...Electricians, gardeners, etc.. with people giving good and bad reports...

I;m a little amazed....my nextdoor weeds out any political junk,
except they do allow local politicos to advertise a bit...but very little negative stuff comes out...maybe complaining about theivery and stuff such as that....I have had several people help
me with projects, rides and stuff like that, so I'm satisfied with it....

I did notice that when I looked it up, that it's a larger area than just where, say, my husband walks our dog and chats with the neighbors. I like the idea about being warned of potential problems.

I don't know, maybe I'll join and be a quiet member. Eh, it could happen. ;)
