I can't resist a new houseplant

I was in Home Depot today and somehow I always end up in the plant department. I found this little succulent and he even has a name. They call him, Little Warty.
Yesterday my daughter told me that my grandson had 3 warts removed from his fingers so I thought it was very fitting that I buy the plant. I'll use anything for an excuse to by a plant. lolLittle Warty.JPG

My ex-wife used to bring home plants constantly and as I tired of watching them die took over the responsibility for their maintenance. Unfortunately she simply saw them as . . . objects. But, we remain friends...

I resist the urge to add any new ones. Each of my plants have a history. Five plants were started my father and he died in 2012, so I have managed to keep them alive this long. One African Violet I started from the other one that my father started. If I buy a new one it won't bloom but these two bloom all year long. So just sticking with these two. He also started my aloe plants for me and I have three.

The peace plant I got on the day my MIL died. My church had sent it to her in the hospital and when we were leaving her room that day, my FIL told me and my SIL to take the plants. I took this one and still have it.

The philodendron is one I started from a job I had in a factory. The lady next to me had it on her table and I took a leaf home to start. I still have that one and started another one from that one. I wanted a snake plant but think I will just stick with these.

I am amazed I still have these plants. When I lived in my house for 20 years they would just about die during the winter. The house would be freezing cold when the wood stoves were banked back. I have pictures of them with brown leaves! I am quite attached to them.

I love your way of thinking, Ruth! :giggle:

I couldn't agree more, any excuse to add a new houseplant to help liven-up ones environment is good enough for me!

That's a lovely looking plant, so reminiscent of an aloe-vera plant.

Tis the season to enjoy new plants, flowers, blossoming trees, and the general greenery that spring brings with it!

Do enjoy!

I love succulents. They are so forgiving. Mine seem to thrive on neglect.
