My old Vista laptop is having issues now, and driving me nuts. I have a new HP Envy 2-in-one laptop with a touchscreen and backlit keyboard! Windows 10 is awesome ... love that start button!

This thing hooked right into the wifi here and wow, is this thing FAST! No more browser issues with Google Chrome, and I was able to get into the settings very easily. I highly recommend this one ... so far!

I'm on it now and having a ball!

I took all my files off the old Dell. She still works fine but I pulled all the Internet stuff off and she's my typewriter and journal now. She'll live on, LOL!

This is interesting. My laptop died about 3 months ago. I have never been very knowledgeable about them as my husband was the expert in such things but as he is no longer able I had to try to sort it out myself. I got my son to check out Amazon Canada fo me from Holland and he came up with what he thought would suit so I bought it.

I hate it, I absolutely hate it, it is slow, it is jumpy, keeps going off, f I am typing it misses out whole sentances then they show up 2 lines above..it has to go.

I am toying with the idea of buying a desk top computer and using this one if I travel etc..

Would a desk top be better, quicker etc. Also I am pulling wirelessly from my SIL computer w0uld I be better if I set up on my own.

Sorry to dive into your thread but there seemed to be some knowledgeable folks around on your topic. any help would be appreciated.

Jeannine, is that when you are typing, like in a reply here online, of "offline" like in writing in a Word document? I frequently experience the typing showing up above the line thing, but I think that's more of a web browser issue than a computer type occurrence.
 
That's really a very nice laptop and I can see why it's called envy! Congratulations on that. One of these years I will come out of the dark ages and get a laptop. Still using the old vista desktop.
 
That's a very dramatic improvement, going from a Windows Vista computer to a new Windows 10 device! Congrats!
