I do Hydrotherapy three times a week to strengthen my ankle

There is a dedicated walking lane at the pool for those people recovering from what ever afflicts them.
As with everything in life there are those whom seem to think that rules do not apply to them.
I am walking along slowly and get crashed into be a guy swimming at speed.
Bretrick never the one to say nothing I pointed out to him that this is a walking lane only.

"Why don't you mind your own business"?

"Well, I am minding my business because you crashed into me when I am recovering from a broken ankle. The swimming lane is the next one over"

"They are swimming too slow"

"The next lane over is the fast lane. Why are there always people who think rules do not apply to them"?

"You're lucky I do not get pissed off with you, if I did get pissed off with you I would smash your face"

"That would not get you anywhere but locked up. Here I am doing hydrotherapy and you crash onto me because you will do as you please"

"Well I like you for speaking to me instead of going to the staff to complain"

"I am one who will always speak up when someone affects me because the "rules do not apply to them"

Goof for you for speaking up! If I were you I’d still have a private talk with whoever runs the facility. I was a lifelong year round swimmer until a few years ago. None of the facilities I used had a dedicated walking lane, and I think it’s a great idea. There were clubs where swimmers were rude and greedy about the lanes, ,and others where the tradition was to be polite and share.

@Bretrick Did he go back to the proper lane?

PS. How is your ankle doing?
It was time for me to leave and no, he never went to the swim lanes. The rules were not made for him. He will always do as he wants.
Too many of these selfish people abound.
My ankle is slowly getting better. Still a long time before it will be back to full strength, if at all. Thank you for asking.

I am not one to go to the authorities.
I speak to the person doing the wrong thing just to get them to think about what ramifications their actions have on others.
If I was to come across him again swimming in the walking lane then I will go through it all again.
Piss him off, maybe he will punch me, doubt that though.
I always speak up against wrongdoing.

Good for you for speaking up but maintaining control! I think my "Thug-ette" would have had to come out and it may have affected how well he could swim from then on out. 😂 I hate it when people think they are above the rules and above the law.

No disrespect to bicyclists, but this reminds me of some of the experiences I've had walking by the lake near our house. The trails are for bicyclists, joggers and those who want to walk. There are signs that say bicyclists are supposed to say "passing on your left" but very few do.

I've had bicyclists fly by within an inch of me because they think I am infringing on THEIR territory. I also had one guy shout at me that how dare I not look behind me before crossing over to another path. They are always gone before I can say anything but my middle finger gets a lot of use!
